The opening day of Newmarket's Future Champions Festival is headlined by the Fillies' Mile. This top-quality Group One has been won by many outstanding fillies since it was created in 1973, including the great Oh So Sharp, who went on to win the Triple Crown the following season.
We've taken a look through the confirmed field for Friday's Fillies' Mile and picked out our best betting tips.

2022 Fillies' Mile Entries
John & Thady Gosden won this race with Inspiral 12 months ago and Commissioning will try to follow in her stablemate's footsteps on Friday. Rab Havlin's mount ran out an ultra-impressive winner of the Rockfel Stakes when last seen and bet365 are taking no chances, listing Commissioning as their 4/5 favourite.
Harry Dunlop - who'll retire at the end of the season - and owners The Megson's have decided to supplement surprise May Hill winner, Polly Pott into Friday's main event. Aidan O'Brien's sole representative is Ingabelle Stakes runner-up, Library.
Richard Hughes's star juvenile, Sparkling Beauty sits prominently in the Future Champions Festival betting. May Hill runner-up, Novakai and Prestige Stakes third, Bright Diamond will represent Karl Burke. Ismail Mohammed's Alseyoob and the Johnston's Ferrari Queen round off the Newmarket entries.
2022 Fillies' Mile Tips
I dare not take on Commissioning. John Gosden's filly produced the outstanding performance of the season by a filly in Britain when winning the Rockfel Stakes. She'll clearly be extremely hard to beat.
Bet365's "betting without Commissioning" market is much more competitive and I feel the value here lies with SPARKLING BEAUTY.
Richard Hughes' filly was beaten into second by another Gosden horse on debut. Sparkling Beauty then ran out an impressive winner over seven furlongs at Goodwood, thrashing two future winners by an easy three-and-a-half lengths.
Wed was then a little too good for Sparkling Beauty, as Hughes sent his filly over to France for the Prix du Calvados. Although the winner didn't boost that form on Arc weekend, Never Ending Story - who finished a place behind Hughes' raider when third at Deauville - did hold that form up with a solid third in the Prix Marcel Boussac.
Sparkling Beauty is a smooth, powerful traveler and I can't see the step up to a mile causing her any problems. She could prove herself to be the best of the rest behind the overwhelming favourite.
Verdict
Commissioning is, more than likely, going to win, so I'll delve into the "betting without the favourite" market and back Sparkling Beauty at 7/2.
