The second day of racing at the Ebor Festival was headlined by the Yorkshire Oaks.

After a treble on day one, Aidan O'Brien's Content moved to the head of the market for Thursday's main event. John and Thady Gosden's pair of Queen Of The Pride and Emily Upjohn sat second and third in the market, with Irish Oaks winner You Got To Me solid at 9/2.

The big market mover on the day was William Haggas' Sea Theme, who was backed in from 25s to 10/1 during the morning. A second Ballydoyle runner, Port Fairy was expected to make the running. Mistral Star and Lava Stream rounded off the market.

As expected, Port Fairy went straight to the front under Wayne Lordan, with Content running keen in the midfield. Emily Upjohn was positioned much more prominently by Kieran Shoemark in the early stages and sat on the shoulder of Port Fairy, with Sea Theme not far behind.

Oisin Murphy was happy to bide his time on Queen Of The Pride. The former favourite still had plenty of ground to make up as the field turned for home, and when Murphy asked for an effort, there was very little response.

As Port Fairy gave way, Emily Upjohn moved powerfully into contention. Whether it was by design or his mount's inexperience, Ryan Moore and Content drifted towards the inside rail as they moved into contention, with You Got To Me taking dead aim at Emily Upjohn down the centre.

Emily Upjohn's effort began to flatten out, leaving the two three-year-olds to fight out the finish. You Got To Me claimed the bragging rights at the Curragh, but those placings were reversed on Thursday, as Content kept on well to repel Ralph Beckett's Classic winner.

Back in third was Emily Upjohn, who finished a long way clear of the chasing pack. Mistral Star edged out Sea Theme to finish fourth, with Lava Stream in fifth, and Queen Of The Pride and Port Fairy a long way adrift of the top two.
