2024 Preakness Stakes Entries
Bob Baffert's Arkansas Derby winner, Muth was verging on even-money favouritism in the early Preakness Stakes betting. Sadly, Muth suffered a setback earlier in the week and has been replaced at the head of the market by Mystik Dan, who built on a third-place finish in the Arkansas Derby by landing the Kentucky Derby at odds of 186/10.
Catching Freedom kept on well to finish fourth in the Kentucky Derby and Brad Cox's star renews rivalries with Mystik Dan. Just Steel, who faded badly after making the running at Churchill Downs, will also advertise the Kentucky Derby form.
Tuscan Gold skipped the Derby after a third-place finish behind Catching Freedom in the Louisiana Derby. Frankie Dettori rides Santa Anita Derby runner-up Imagination for Bob Baffert, who could be inconvenienced by a wide draw in stall nine.
Mugatu and Joe Bravo have been drawn on the rail in stall one, with another outsider Uncle Heavy on his immediate outside. D Wayne Lukas' Group Two winner, Seize The Grey completes Saturday's Preakness field.
