The second leg of American racing's Triple Crown takes place at Pimlico on Saturday, as a top-quality field goes to post in the Preakness Stakes. We've taken a look through the field and picked out our best bet

Following a positive drugs test, Medina Spirit was stripped of his victory in the Kentucky Derby last month. Bob Baffert has been forced to defend his reputation since then, and it seemed for a while like Medina Spirit would be denied the chance to land the second leg of the Triple Crown.

However, news broke today that Baffert and his lawyers has come to an agreement with officials, allowing Medina Lake to take up his spot in the Preakness field, and he tops the current betting.

Stablemate Concert Tour, who was last seen finishing a disappointing third in the Arkansas Derby sits just behind Medina Spirit in the betting. Chad Brown is also double-handed, with Crowded Trade and Risk Taking featuring in the final field.

Midnight Bourbon, sixth in the Kentucky Derby, has been drawn in stall five, with Rombauer one stall outside him in six. Keepmeinmind will clash with Medina Spirit again, after finishing seventh in the Derby. Unbridled Honor, Ram and Japanese raider, France Go De Ina complete the field.

The two Baffert horses top the market, and it'll be very interesting to see how the race pans out. Both have produced their best performances when making the running. Medina Spirit was thrashed by Rock Your World in the Santa Anita Derby when he couldn't get to the front early, as was Concert Tour when he could only finish third in the Arkansas Derby.

There's a chance the Baffert duo could spur each-other on and turn the Preakness into a two-horse race. However, if either, or both underperform, then that would blow this race wide open, and there are a few who appeal at each-way prices.

The one I like is ROMBAUER, who was last seen placing third behind Essential Quality and Highly Motivated. Although the top two that day could only finish fourth and eleventh in the Kentucky Derby, that was still an excellent run from Rombauer, considering he was keen early on and lost significant ground rounding the bend.

Michael McCarthy's charge placed in the Group One American Pharoah Stakes last season, where his late surge from the rear saw him finished less than a length behind the winner in second. Rombauer will be played late again and new partner Flavien Prat - who will be used to riding similar tactics from his time in France - is the perfect partner to execute a fast finish.
