ITV Racing Tips on July 16th - Best bets at Newbury, Market Rasen and the Curragh

Here are our best ITV Racing betting tips at Newbury, Market Rasen and the Curragh on Saturday.

Despite that three-pound penalty for winning a Listed race on his final start for Jessica Harrington, CADILLAC should take plenty of beating. Jack Mitchell's mount ran a cracker to finish second in the Wolferton Stakes last month at Royal Ascot and he can claim a first victory for new trainer, Kevin Philippart De Foy on Saturday.

Galileo Silver got the better of JERSEY WONDER when they met at Ffos Las last time out. There was, however, only a length between the two when they crossed the line. Jersey Wonder is two pounds better off at the weights today and seems to be more comfortable going right-handed. It wouldn't be a surprise if Oliver Sherwood's six-year-old turned the tables on the favourite.

DIAMOND BAY is a stayer I'm keen to keep on-side. Tom Ward's four-year-old stayed on well after getting outpaced coming down the hill to finish fourth behind some classy rivals at Goodwood on his penultimate start. 

David Probert's mount was only beaten a head over a slightly shorter trip at Salisbury last time out and Diamond Bay enters this running off the same mark. He remains open to plenty of improvement.

Following some solid runs behind decent rivals during 2021, CIRQUE ROYAL recorded two impressive novice wins in May. Gerald Quinn's six-year-old cantered to victory at Perth on his return after a 160-day absence, before thrashing a Gordon Elliott raider - who's won well since - by five lengths at Kelso.

Cirque Royal has clearly been laid out for this race and this opening handicap mark of 123 - along with Noel McParlan's three-pound claimer - leaves him looking extremely well-treated.

Peter Bowen is the winning-most trainer in the history of this handicap. Francky Du Berlais handed Bowen his seventh Summer Plate 12 months ago and last year's runaway winner returns to try and defend his crown.

With James Bowen again partnering Franky Du Berlais - who carries 15 pounds more on his back this year - Sean Bowen will get the leg up on his father's second string, STATUARIO, who's yet to win in 13 starts over fences, but returns to Market Rasen on the back of three excellent runs.

Statuario finished second on his first two starts of the year at Uttoxeter and Fontwell, jumping markedly out to his right on both occasions. Bowen's mount was much better in the Summer Plate Trial over this course-and-distance, where he was only beaten two lengths by Mahler's Promise. Statuario is only three-pounds higher for that career-best effort over fences and he'll be getting weight from 12 of the 14 runners. He's not without a shout in this competitive race.

9/4 isn't the most attractive price, but I think you've got to have some sort of wager on MARIA BRANWELL. David O'Meara's filly ran out a cosy winner of the National Stakes at Sandown and stayed on to place third behind two classy rivals in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot. Maria Branwell is the class act in the field and only has 8-11 to shoulder.

Seven of the last nine renewals of Super Sprint have gone the way of either Richard Hannon or Richard Fahey. Between them, the two Richard's account for a third of the field this year, and I'm keen to back the best of Fahey's two runners, DARE TO HOPE at a tasty each-way price.

Oisin Orr's mount beat future Windsor Castle runner-up and Dragon Stakes winner, Rocket Rodney on debut, before narrowly losing out under a penalty last time out. Dare To Hope is drawn nicely up in stall 19, with likely pacesetters Rogue Spirit and Eddie's Boy drawn around him on the high side of the track. If he goes off at 18/1, I'll be very surprised.
