6:33pm Longchamp - Prix Aga Khan IV Tips
Sosie is a worthy adversary for anyone on his day. However, he'll have to go some to beat DARYZ (4/11), who could be considered the best horse in training at the moment.
Barring a poor effort in the Juddmonte International - where the ground was clearly on the quick side for him - Daryz has barely put a foot wrong. Francis Graffard's star progressed through the ranks nicely in 2025, beating Bay City Roller in the Prix Eugène Adam. Daryz then bounced back from a narrow loss to Croix Du Nord on Trials Day here at Longchamp by winning the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, where he travelled beautifully throughout before outmuscling Minnie Hauk in the closing stages.
Mickael Barzalona's mount looked just as good as ever when powering to victory on his reappearance in the Prix Ganay last month. Barzalona will put a huge target on Sosie's back on Thursday night, and I expect Daryz will have far too much boot for his countryman in the closing stages.
7:50pm Longchamp - Prix Vicomtesse Vigier Tips
In contrast to our opening Group One, most bookies are offering 3/1 the field for this year's Prix Vicomtesse Vigier. Arrow Eagle is a worthy favourite, and I'm intrigued to see how Consent performs on her seasonal reappearance.
CABALLO DE MAR (8/1) started 2025 running in Class 5 handicaps on the all-weather, and ended it by winning a Group One on French soil. George Scott's five-year-old took down Coltrane, Queenstown and Sunway to land the Prix du Cadran here at Longchamp, before struggling in the Prix Royal-Oak at the end of October.
William Buick guided Cabello De Mar to an excellent runner-up finish behind Fairy Glen on his Meydan debut in the Dubai Gold Cup, and the pair went even closer in the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot last time out, where Scott's star was eventually reeled in by Sweet William. Those were two excellent efforts to kick off Caballo de Mar's 2026 season, and Oisin Murphy will jump into his saddle on Thursday evening.
