Ahead of Friday's Gold Cup, we've gathered quotes from the connections of this year's runners.

Here are the key quotes ahead of the 2025 Cheltenham Gold Cup.

2025 Gold Cup Quotes From Connections

Willie Mullins (Galopin Des Champs)

This is the best chaser I've trained and Hurricane Fly the best hurdler.

Everyone loves Audrey [Turley], who owns him. She wears her heart on her sleeve and she's wonderful.

People see how much she enjoys the horse and I think that reflects the way they feel for her as well. He goes out and takes it from the front and grabs races by the scruff of the neck – and he battles off everyone.

Paul Townend (Galopin Des Champs)

He obviously has huge, huge talent. His appetite for it for it is the one.

He puts his head down and he gallops. You can look at the last fence and ride at it like it's not there. You know when you land, he's going to gallop to the line.

That's what sorts the good ones from the very good ones. We're very privileged to have him.

Joseph O'Brien (Banbridge)

We're well aware that Galopin Des Champs is a special horse and we're very privileged to have a horse that can even be considered a rival, or one that could give him a fright.

We're very happy with our horse's preparation, that's really what we're focussed on.

The forecast is favourable towards us, at the moment, and hopefully it remains that way over the next week or so.

We always saw him as a stayer and we stepped him up to three miles at Aintree after he won the Martin Pipe. He didn't fire on the day and it came a bit soon for him. We couldn't say that he wouldn't get the distance and, probably what will be more telling, is whether we can beat Galopin on the day or not. The extra couple of furlongs will be fine.

The Gold Cup is a very different test than the King George but our horse likes the track, he likes going left-handed and hopefully the ground will be good to soft on the day and it'll be a fair race for everyone.

Gavin Cromwell (Inothewayurthinkin)

I was very happy with him the other morning, it all went well.

He seems to be very well in himself and he's progressive. Just like last season, he seems to be progressing as the season goes on. He has improved since the Dublin Racing Festival and hopefully he won't be too far away.

Emmet Mullins (Corbetts Cross)

Corbetts Cross came surprisingly very good out of Ascot. I was worried as it was an end-to-end gallop and a fair test but he's been bouncing since.

I think we’re in a good position now. We didn’t really get a clear run of things; he wasn’t right for the Betfair Chase, and we kind of stumbled our way on to the King George.

He was just flat in Kempton, he was never going and never travelled. You could put that down to inexperience or the big occasion, but I don’t think the horse was right when he didn’t finish off his race, as we know he’s got a high cruising speed and he can stay.

Henry De Bromhead (Monty's Star)

He's had a frustrating season training-wise. We just haven't had a clear run with him due to a few setbacks. He was always going to need his first run at Tramore but I hoped he'd have the class to win it anyway. Embassy Gardens was very good on the day and we turned around that form at Leopardstown.

I thought he jumped and travelled really well in the Irish Gold Cup before getting a bit tired turning in. If we can get a clear run between now and the Gold Cup, I think he'll run really well. He ran very well in the Brown Advisory last season and has good form with Fact To File and Spillane's Tower. The extra couple of furlongs should suit him.

Mouse Morris (Gentlemansgame)

We took him down to the beach the other day, we take all the Cheltenham horses there, it's a bit of a tradition and it's great for them, a bit of a change.

He goes well fresh, and he'll be fit as a fiddle, don't worry about that.

Patrick Neville (The Real Whacker)

He’s in great form and it’s just a case of keeping him where he is and getting him there now.

He doesn’t take a whole pile of schooling, so he might have one or two pops over a fence and that’ll be it.

He’s worked a few times, he seems good and fresh and well in himself and the ground is drying out, so all going well.

He’s operated around the track and if you take the first two in the betting out of it, it’s wide open. Of the rest of them, you’d see his King George run is nearly as good as what’s there.

The bookies don’t think so, but they’re going on last year’s Gold Cup run and you can draw a line through that because the ground went for him. I wouldn’t take any notice of that.

Lucinda Russell (Ahoy Senor)

Ahoy Senor looks fab. We've given him a soft-palate cautery since his last run. I was looking at him this morning and he's just a different shape. Whether this has been a problem, although he's never made a noise to our knowledge, but whether he's now able to use himself properly I don't know. He looks a different shape and I hope it's the right shape!

I'm quite optimistic about him; I do think he's in better shape than he has been for a long time.
