Fred then ran a blinder in the Grade One Neville Hotels Novice Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas, where he was almost brought to a stand-still after making a shuddering error down the back straight, and still managed to finish second behind stablemate Fury Road.
I was slightly worried when Jamie Codd said during a preview evening that he could get put up on Elliott's second-string, Braeside. There were rumours that Rob James was going to get the leg-up on the market leader. I was understandably delighted when I saw Codd, the best amateur jockey in the business, had been jocked up on Run Wild Fred when the entries were revealed and I think he'll take plenty of beating on Tuesday.
