Stencil tops the market, having finished a ten-length second behind East India Dock on Trials Day. Noel George & Amanda Zetterholm watched Milan Tino finished sixth having been backed into short-priced favouritism 12 months ago, and Stencil hasn't been given an easy mark by the handicapper.
Second-favourite, Total Look was handed a mark of 132, despite being beaten two lengths off 123 as he made his handicap debut at Punchestown in January. Willie Mullins, who is still searching for his first victory in this contest, will be represented by top-weight Willy De Houelle, and the mare Murcia - who was given a lofty mark of 136 after a second-place finish in the Rated Hurdle at Naas which has produced four of the last six winners of his juvenile handicap.
2025 Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Tips - Puturhandstogether
Lark In The Morning handed Joseph O'Brien his second victory in this handicap 12 months ago. Joseph, who has enjoyed a fruitful National Hunt campaign, could have a quartet of runners in this year's race, including three in the colours of JP McManus.
PUTURHANDSTOGETHER (14/1) was rated in the mid 80s on the flat, and got off the mark over hurdles on his second start at Cork in December. O'Brien's gelding travelled powerfully throughout and found an extra gear after the last to hold off Turn And Finish, who has since won for Harry Derham and earned a mark of 125.
Mark Walsh then gave Puturhandstogether an easy ride as he was beaten a length by the experienced Collaborative in a Rated Hurdle at Fairyhouse last month. The heavy going that day didn't suit this son of Caravaggio, and Walsh didn't seem keen to give it the full beans in the closing stages.
While this Cheltenham Festival mark of 130 looks workable, I wouldn't be surprised to see Joseph jock up one of the many talented conditional jockeys at his disposal. If Mark Walsh opts to ride Puturhandstogether over Beyonds Your Dreams, then 14/1 is sure to disappear quickly.
