The newest addition to the Cheltenham Festival schedule takes place on day three, as a talented field contests the Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase. This Grade Two handicap replaced the old Turners Novices' Chase in 2025. Unlike the Kim Muir and the National Hunt Chase, which are 0-145 handicaps, there is no rating ceiling for this novices' handicap.

Here's the latest Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase betting and a look at the most likely runners.

2025 Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase Entries

Jagwar shot straight to the head of the novices' handicap chase market following his victory over stablemate Billytherealbigred on Trials Day. Sitting second in the market is Gordon Elliott's Firefox, who finished second in the Drinmore Novices' Chase earlier in the season.

Springwell Bay has progressed nicely over fences this season, and would carry something close to top-weight off his chasing mark of 155. Nicky Henderson's Jango Baie is rated two pounds lower than his rival, despite a narrow defeat in the Grade One Scilly Isles Novices' Chase at Sandown.

Joseph O'Brien's Nürburgring is one of several possible Irish entrants on day three of the Cheltenham Festival. No Flies On Him and Down Memory Lane could carry JP McManus' colours into battle. Last year's Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner, Slade Steel features prominently in the market.

Waterford Whispers and Mossy Fen Park could bolster Henry De Bromhead's challenge. Martin Pipe fourth, Answer To Kayf struck on his third run over fences to qualify for the Jack Richards. Other potential runners include Nicky Henderson's Jingko Blue, John McConnell's Trials Day winner Moon D'Orange, Willie Mullins' Asian Master, and Lowry's Bar for Philip Hobbs and Johnson White.
