Following two fantastic days of racing at the Dublin Racing Festival, we've put up our seventh ante-post selection for the 2024 Cheltenham Festival. Here's our latest ante-post Cheltenham tips.

2024 Baring Bingham Novices' Hurdle Tips - Jango Baie

When bet365 announced that they were now offering Non-Runner No Bet markets for all 28 races at the Cheltenham Festival, I highlighted five bets to make the most of this stipulation. Amongst that quintet was a value bet for the Baring Bingham Novices' Hurdle, but I was reluctant to take the bet myself until after the Dublin Racing Festival.

Ballyburn remains the favourite for the race formerly known as the Ballymore, following his victory in the two-mile Grade One at Leopardstown this weekend. Willie Mullins' star is a much shorter price for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, where he heads stablemate Mystical Power in the market. As things stand, they would be Mullins' best chances of winning the Supreme and Ireland's Champion Trainer rarely enters the Cheltenham Festival opener with just one potential winner up his sleeve.

Surprise Lawlor's Of Naas victor, Readin Tommy Wrong could represent Willie Mullins in the Baring Bingham, despite jockey Daryl Jacob suggesting that his mount would improve again if stepped up to three miles. Predators Gold and Ile Atlantique are both on course for the opener on day two at Cheltenham, but neither has been particularly convincing in the closing stages of their races.

Slade Steel would look to have a massive chance for Henry De Bromhead and Gordon Elliott is sure to be well-represented. Nicky Henderson is the only other trainer who's been able to challenge Willie Mullins' dominance in the novice races at Cheltenham. Most of Henderson's success has come in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, where Nicky will be represented by Jeriko Du Reponet. JANGO BAIE (16/1) is clearly a high-quality novice hurdler too and I'm expecting this strong stayer to improve again when stepped up beyond two miles.

Despite doing plenty wrong during the race, Jango Baie snatched a narrow victory on his maiden hurdle debut at Ascot. Nicky Henderson's novice pulled miles clear of the field with Tellherthename, who's won twice since and could give that form another timely boost with a strong performance in the Betfair Hurdle this weekend.

Henderson then threw his novice into the brand new Formby Novices' Hurdle at Aintree on Boxing Day. Jango Baie was a big drifter on the day of the race and, just like at Ascot, travelled keenly throughout the contest. James Bowen tracked Farren Glory into contention, but was hampered when Gordon Elliott's raider crashed out at the second-last. Despite that inconvenience, Henderson's star joined Favour And Fortune jumping the last and pulled a couple of lengths clear on the run to the line.

Jango Baie will warm up for Cheltenham with an outing in the Sidney Banks Novices' Hurdle at Huntingdon on Thursday, where he'll likely go off as the short-priced favourite. Shishkin won that two-and-a-half mile contest before scoring in the Supreme, and victory in that Listed contest would set Jango Baie up perfectly for a tilt at the Baring Bingham.

If Ballyburn does indeed run in the Supreme, then Ireland won't have a stand-out in the Baring Bingham this year and Jango Baie has done more than enough to suggest that he can challenge in a race of this caliber. If he wins the Sidney Banks as he should, then Nicky Henderson's star will be a single-figure price for this Cheltenham Festival contest.
