The 2025 Irish 1000 Guineas promises thrilling racing action with fillies taking center stage after the Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh. Lake Victoria, the favorite, is expected to bounce back after finishing sixth at the British 1000 Guineas. Other strong contenders include Dermot Weld's Swelter, Ger Lyon's Red Letter, and Ollie Sangster's duo of Flight and Simmering—all of whom have shown promising form. Aidan O'Brien has multiple entries, including Exactly, Bedtime Story, and January, adding depth to an already competitive field.

2025 Irish 1000 Guineas Entries

Lake Victoria enjoyed an unbeaten juvenile campaign, winning Group One races over six, seven and eight furlongs. Aidan O'Brien's filly finished sixth on her reappearance in the British 1000 Guineas, but was expected to come on plenty for that return to action and Lake Victoria is the firm-favourite to win her fourth Group One on Sunday.

Sitting second in the market is Dermot Weld's Swelter, who made it two-from-two with an impressive victory in the Priory Belle Stakes at Leopardstown. The Juddmonte colours could also be carried by Ger Lyon's Red Letter who, like the favourite, was a little undercooked when finished seventh in the British version of this Classic.

Ollie Sangster's duo of Flight and Simmering finished second and third at Newmarket and both have been entered in the Irish equivalent on Sunday. Desert Flower, who ran out an impressive winner of that Classic, also holds an entry, but she's being trained for the Epsom Oaks instead.

Joseph Murphy could be represented by Cercene, who has placed in two Group Threes so far this season. Aidan O'Brien, meanwhile, holds a whole host of other entries, including French 1000 Guineas fourth and sixth, Exactly and Bedtime Story, Fillies' Mile runner-up January, and the third from that juvenile Group One at Newmarket, Ballet Slippers.

Archie Watson's Fred Darling winner Duty First, Charlie Appleby's Verse Of Love, and The Crisford's filly Arabian Dusk have been entered by British connections. Other possible runners include Chantez, Falling Snow, Dreamy and Carolina Jetstream
