2025 Irish 2000 Guineas Entries
Under a surprisingly patient ride by Kieran Shoemark, Field Of Gold was beaten into second by Ruling Court in the British 2000 Guineas earlier this month. John & Thady Gosden sacked Shoemark as their retained jockey on the back of that defeat and Field Of Gold will have a new rider when he carries the tag of favouritism into this Classic.
Aidan O'Brien has entered Expanded, who finished ninth as his sole representative at Newmarket. Tetrarch Stakes winner, Officer could be Ballydoyle's number one at the Curragh. O'Brien has handed further entries to Sandown Trial winner Swagman, and Derby Trial fifth Acapulco Bay.
Harry Charlton looks set to send the unbeaten Cosmic Year over to Ireland for his first Group One assignment. Jessica Harrington could be represented by Hotazhell, who was withdrawn from the French Guineas at Longchamp. Paddy Twomey looks likely to run Currawood, who finished second to Officer in the Tetrach on his most recent run.
Ruling Court will head to the Epsom Derby, while Henri Matisse and Camille Pissarro are unlikely to take part after finishing first and third in the French 2000 Guineas. Other potential runners at the Irish Guineas Festival include Joseph O'Brien's Scorthy Champ, Comanche Brave for Donnacha O'Brien, Andrew Balding's Windlord, and Rashabar for Brian Meehan.
