Although no crowds will be allowed to attend Leopardstown's Christmas Festival this year, the start of this popular meeting will be met with great excitement. Several potential challengers in the 2021 Arkle Challenge Trophy will clash in the Grade One feature on Boxing Day, with the Racing Post Novice Chase headlining the day one card.

We've taken a look through the card at Leopardstown in full and picked out our best betting tip in each race.

I, and many other followers of horse racing, have been eagerly awaiting MICRO MANAGE'S first start over hurdles. Willie Mullins' charge reached a superb rating of 107 on the flat, finishing seventh in the Irish St Leger on his final start. Hurricane Cliff ran up to a decent level on his hurdles bow, but Micro Manage has star quality and should get off to a winning start.

Race 2 - Maiden Hurdle Tips

WIDE RECEIVER has suffered three defeats over hurdles so far this season. Gordon Elliott's charge stayed on from the rear to place third in a Grade Three at Navan, and lost out by a length to Ashdale Bob, who boosted that form by winning a Grade Two on his next start.

I'm convinced that two miles is Wide Reciever's ideal trip, having shown a smart turn-of-foot when winning his bumper. El Barra looked smart when winning his bumper last month, but I'm hoping Wide Receiver's experience will count in his favour.

Race 3 - Frank Knight Juvenile Hurdle Tips

ZANAHIYR currently tops the market for the 2021 Triumph Hurdle, having destroyed Saint Sam when they clashed at Fairyhouse. Saint Sam has more to offer than what he showed that day, but I doubt even a three-pound pull at the weights will help him turn the tables on the market leader.

(Skip to 1:20pm to watch Zanahiyr win the Bar One Juvenile Hurdle)

Race 4 - Novice Handicap Hurdle Tips

One Cool Poet was beaten five lengths off this mark the last time he ran over hurdles, but Matt Smith's eight-year-old has improved 40 pounds on the flat since then, so this now looks a highly lenient mark.

I'd still rather back one at an each-way price though, and the one who appeals most is BIG KING, who ran up to an RPR of 121 when winning on his handicap debut. The handicapper has pushed Barry Connell's mount right up to 115 on the back of that win, but Big King still only has 11-2 to shoulder, and seems to have more improvement left in his locker.

Race 5 - Racing Post Novice Chase Tips

Having failed to win over hurdles, Blackbow jumped like a natural on his first chase start, seeing off Entoucas without being asked any serious questions. Darver Star clearly hated heavy ground on his last start at Punchestown, and should be more competitive on favourable ground conditions.

The winner that day at Punchestown was FELIX DESJY, who ran down Sizing Pottsie to score in the Grade Two Mongey Novices' Chase. Sizing Pottsie has since come out and beaten Entoucas by six lengths in a handicap, so that was clearly a very good run from Felix Desjy, especially when you consider he jumped markedly out to his right early on.

Gordon Elliott's seven-year-old won a Grade One at Aintree during his novice hurdles season, so he too should like the nicer ground at Leopardstown, and switching back to a left-handed track should really suit.

Race 6 - Handicap Chase Tips

CUSP OF CARABELLI has been running throughout the summer. David O'Brien's stable star has been tried over two-and-a-half and three miles, but produced his best showing back down at two, when following Sizing Pottsie and Entoucas home at Fairyhouse last time out.

Despite running up to a mark of 133 that day, the handicapper has dropped Sean Flanagan's mount down five pounds to 127. I think that gives Cusp Of Carabelli the chance of challenging for an overdue victory.

Willie Mullins' bumper runners have been going great guns this term, and Cool Jet is massively respected. I, however, would rather take a chance on COLLINS for Joseph O'Brien, who's won this race twice in recent years. This four-year-old is by top sire Martaline, who's progeny boasts an excellent record in bumpers. Collins is also a half-brother to a Listed winner on the flat in France, so everything points towards and promising debut run.
