Durbanville and Turffontein stage strong cards today, with the first race going off at Turffontein at 11:15am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing betting tips for today.

Turffontein Tips - Saturday 30th August

Race 3 - WINSTON’S WONDER (8)

WINSTON‘S WONDER produced a promising debut effort over 1160m on the Standside course. He took time to find his feet, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Danon Platina would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

Race 5 - VIBE SA (1)

VIBE SA was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m at the Vaal. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia which should assist his cause. The son of Just As Well can follow up with another victory.

Race 6 - FROZEN FANTASY (1)

FROZEN FANTASY showed some signs of a form return over this C&D last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. She is the joint highest rated horse and from pole position, she can return to winning ways.

Race 7 - QUANTUM THEORY (1)

QUANTUM THEORY was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on the Standside course. He raced from just off the pace, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is having his first run for the Sean Tarry stable. If settled into his new surroundings, he can follow up with another victory.

Race 8 - SHINTO SHRINE (1)

SHINTO SHRINE had excuses in his comeback run over 1400m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts on this course. He will strip much fitter and can return to winning ways.

Durbanville Tips - Saturday 30th August

Race 4 - WANDER DUNE (1)

WANDER DUNE was a super-impressive winner on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. Despite losing a length leaving the start, she showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. She does take on much stronger but looks to be above average and can remain unbeaten.

Race 6 - SHE’S MY WORLD (2)

SHE‘S MY WORLD has good consistent form lines to her credit. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of One World is the class horse in this race and she can return to winning ways.

Race 7 - KWITE A KING (11)

KWITE A KING finished 2.25 lengths behind ARIOVISTUS last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. The son of Vercingetorix is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 8 - HAPPY VERSE (3)

HAPPY VERSE stayed on at the finish when fifth in the Grade 3 Langerman last time. He returns from a 10-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Vercingetorix looks to have class and from his good draw of three, he should be the one to beat.

Race 9 - WORLD WARRIOR (5)

WORLD WARRIOR showed good improvement when second over 1200m last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish suggests that he will love the rise to 1500m. He is having his peak run today and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he can go one better.

Verdict

Happy Verse (Race 8) is Magic Tips' best bet at Durbanville on Saturday. Over at Turffontein, Quantum Theory (Race 7) is the NAP of the day.
