2022 Coronation Cup Entries

Last year's Epsom Derby winner, Adayar had sat atop the opening betting. Charlie Appleby revealed last week, though, that his star has suffered a minor setback and will now make his reappearance at Royal Ascot.

Manobo quickly replaced his stablemate at the top of the betting. Charlie Appleby's charge won the Nad Al Sheba Trophy out in Meydan in February and was last seen losing out to Stay Foolish in the two-mile Dubai Gold Cup.

Pyledriver narrowly held off Al Aasy to win this race 12 months ago and William Muir's stable star returns to defend his crown. Alpinista, who won three Group Ones on German soil last season, will also make her reappearance on Epsom Oaks day.

Roger Varian's Teona could make an appearance if the ground comes up favourably good. Five-time Group winner, Hukum could carry the Shadwell colours into this year's Coronation Cup.

Aidan O'Brien has handed entries to two strong stayer in Kyprios and Cleveland, along with recent Tattersalls Gold Cup runner-up, High Definition. Other possible Epsom Derby Festival runners include Yibir, Eshaada, Baron Samedi and Foxes Tales.
