The 2026 Shloer Chase at Cheltenham's November Meeting features Jonbon returning for his fourth consecutive run, having previously won in 2023 and 2024 but finishing behind L'Eau Du Sud last year. JPR One, who recently won a handicap at Cheltenham and placed second in the Haldon Gold Cup, and Gidleigh Park, a Grade Two winner, are among the main contenders. Other entries include Calico, Libberty Hunter, Saint Segal, and the young Mighty Bandit. Jonbon tops the betting, but faces a competitive field with several proven course winners.

The Shloer Chase headlines the opening day of Cheltenham's November Meeting. This two-mile Grade Two has been the starting point of the season for many of the sport's finest chasers, and one of National Hunt racing's favourite sons tops the market for this year's renewal.

2026 Shloer Chase Entries

For the fourth season in a row, Jonbon will make his return to action in the Shloer Chase. Nicky Henderson's star won this race in 2023 and '24, but was comprehensively beaten by L'Eau Du Sud 12 months ago.

Joe Tizzard looks set to be represented by JPR One, who carried top-weight to victory in a handicap here in October, before a fine runner-up effort to Rubaud in the Haldon Gold Cup last week. Harry Fry has confirmed Gidleigh Park in the field, and he'll be hoping to get his Grade Two winner out on the track a bit more often this season.

L'Eau Du Sud is missing from this year's field, but Dan Skelton could be represented by multiple course winner Calico. Cath Williams could be represented by another course-and-distance winner in Libberty Hunter, who was last seen finishing second to Il Etait Temps in the Champion Chase.

Ciaran Gethings will ride Saint Segal, who ran well in a handicap under top weight on his reappearance. The seventh and final entrant is the youngster in the field, Warren Greatrex's three-time chase winner Mighty Bandit.
