The 2026 Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham is shaping up as a highly competitive Grade Three Handicap Chase, with Madara, Meetmebythesea and Blueking d'Oroux tied as joint favourites. Madara and Meetmebythesea both secured handicap wins at the 2026 Cheltenham Festival, while Blueking d'Oroux will debut for Dan Skelton after a move from Paul Nicholls. Other prominent contenders include Quebecois, Regent's Stroll, and last year's runner-up Vincenzo. Multiple Cheltenham winner Jagwar, along with Gidleigh Park and Matata, could carry top weight, and the field features several strong Irish and British entries.

2026 Paddy Power Gold Cup Entries

There's currently a three-way tie for favouritism ahead of this year's Paddy Power Gold Cup. Madara and Meetmebythesea won handicaps at the 2026 Cheltenham Festival, and both are expected to make their reappearances at the November Meeting. As is Blueking d'Oroux, who'll be having his first start for Dan Skelton after being moved from Paul Nicholls' yard.

Paul Nicholls himself has two entrants sitting prominently in the betting, with Quebecois sitting just ahead of Regent's Stroll. Sam Thomas' Vincenzo finished second to Panic Attack in this race 12 months ago and looks set to return to Cheltenham for another crack.

Multiple Cheltenham winner Jagwar is one of three entrants who could be carrying top weight in this year's Paddy Power Gold Cup. Harry Fry's Gidleigh Park and the Twiston-Davies' course winner Matata are also rated 155. Ultima Handicap winner Johnnywho has been handed an entry by the O'Neills.

Henry de Bromhead's Zurich struck at last year's October Meeting and has been entered at Cheltenham again. De Bromhead has also handed an entry to last year's Arkle Trial winner July Flower, while Paul Nolan's Release The Beast could bolster the Irish challenge.

O'Moore Park could return to Cheltenham after making a winning debut for Martin Keighley at the Showcase Meeting. Other eye-catching entrants include Norn Iron for Harry Derham, Nicky Henderson's Noble Park, Torneo for Jamie Snowden, and Dan Skelton's duo of Here Comes Georgie and Kykorock.
