The 2026 Haldon Gold Cup, a Grade Two Limited Handicap, will be held at Aintree after unsafe ground forced its relocation from Exeter. Mirabad is the clear favourite following a strong second in the Panoramic Hurdle at Carlisle and a previous win at the Grand National Festival. JPR One, recently successful at Cheltenham, is confirmed for the race but requires a new jockey due to Brendan Powell’s injury. Other key entries include Rubaud, Stencil, Daytime Dreaming, Sans Bruit, Vanderpoel and Brookie, with several horses switching codes or returning from recent runs.

The firm favourite for Friday's renewal is Mirabad, who caught the eye when finishing second on his return in the Panoramic Hurdle at Carlisle. Moving this Grade Two to Aintree will really suit Dan Skelton's star, who claimed top honours during the Grand National Festival, and Mirabad is already verging on even money for Friday's feature.

Joe Tizzard has confirmed recent Cheltenham handicap winner JPR One in the final field but will have to find a replacement jockey after Brendan Powell suffered serious injuries in a fall at Plumpton on Monday. Paul Nicholls looks set to send Rubaud back over fences following his fourth-place finish in the Panoramic Hurdle.

Imposing five-year-old Stencil could make his first start for Tom George in this rescheduled Grade Two. Petite Tonnerre could also carry JP McManus' colours into this two-mile chase.

Jack Andrews looks set to ride two-time chase winner Daytime Dreaming for Tom Ellis. Paul Nicholls could also be represented by former Red Rum Handicap winner Sans Bruit. Vanderpoel and Brookie are also entered, despite running at Ascot this past weekend.
