Day two of the Grand National Festival is headlined by the Melling Chase. This two-and-a-half-mile Grade One was first run at Aintree in 1991, and has been won by legends like Viking Flagship, Master Minded and Sprinter Sacre.
Politologue won the Melling Chase back in 2018, and he tops the current Aintree betting.

2021 Melling Chase Runners
Politologue was denied the chance to defend his Champion Chase crown at Cheltenham, after veterinary staff spotted a small bleed from one of his nostrils. Nicholls' grey also finished second to Min here 24 months ago, and William Hill makes Politologue their 5/2 favourite.
Nicholls will be double-handed at Aintree, with Sam Twiston-Davies booked to ride Master Tommytucker. Nuts Well won the Old Roan here at Aintree in October, and Ann Hamilton's ten-year-old will make his Grade One debut.
Fakir D'Oudairies and Dashel Drasher both sit prominently in the betting, but they'll only run if the ground is deemed soft enough. Henry De Bromhead's Notebook could step up in trip for the first time at the Grand National Festival.
The top two from the 2020 Scilly Isles, Itchy Feet and Midnight Shadow will run. Duc Des Genievres and Lalor round off the field.
