The first fillies' Classic of the season takes place at Newmarket on the first Sunday in May, as the 1000 Guineas takes place on the Rowley Mile. This historic race has been won by many of flat racing's most famous fillies and a two-time Group One winner dominates the betting for this year's renewal.

Aidan O'Brien accounts for the top three in the early 1000 Guineas betting. In his pre-season stable tour, he intimated that Precise was his number one for Newmarket, and last year's Fillies' Mile winner tops the current Guineas betting at 5/2.

Diamond Necklace is seen as more of an Oaks contender, and seems likely to head to France for the French version of the 1000 Guineas. True Love opened her season with an impressive victory in the Priory Belle, and she's likely to join Precise in the field.

Venetian Sun was beaten two lengths when third to Precise in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh, and she's being trained for a rematch with the market leader by Karl Burke. Burke also looks set to field Prix de la Grotte winner Evolutionist, who could remain in France for their version of this Classic.

My Highness remains in the betting, despite Andre Fabre suggesting his filly will remain on home soil. Zanthos got the better of The Prettiest Star when the two met in the Rockfel Stakes last September, and both could be 1000 Guineas bound. Touleen could still head to Newmarket, despite only finishing second in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury.

Pacific Mission finished second to Aylin at Doncaster, before a cracking effort when second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies' Turf. Other potential Classic contenders include Lowther Stakes winner Royal Fixation, Oh So Sharp Stakes scorer Calendar Girl, and Fashion People for John and Thady Gosden.
