2024 Commonwealth Cup Entries

Following a sixth-place finish in the 2000 Guineas, Inisherin was dropped back to six furlongs by Kevin Ryan and proceeded to bolt up in the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock. Ryan then supplemented his winner into this huge Group One and most bookmakers list Inisherin as the clear favourite.

Two-time Group One winner Vandeek finished a well-beaten third behind Inisherin on his reappearance and the Crisford's star still sits second in the market. Elite Status will also carry Sheikh Mohammed Obaid's famous silks into the Commonwealth Cup, following an impressive return to action in the Carnarvon Stakes at Newbury.

Bucanero Fuerte held off Givemethebeatboys to make a winning comeback in the Lacken Stakes and both look likely to take up their Ascot entries. Porta Fortuna and River Tiber also feature in the betting, but they're priced shorter in the betting for the Coronation Stakes and the Jersey Stakes respectively.

Clive Cox will be represented by Jasour, following his impressive victory in the Pavillion Stakes. Ralph Beckett could step recent handicap scorer, Starlust back up into Group One company at Royal Ascot. William Haggas has handed an entry to Relief Rally, who could also join Big Evs in the King Charles III Stakes on day one.

Other possible runners in this contest include James Fanshawe's unbeaten sprinter King Of Blue, last year's Gimcrack winner Lake Forest, Stuart Williams' winning machine Pandora's Gift, and Adrian Murray's Valiant Force, who landed the Norfolk Stakes at odds of 150/1 12 months ago.
