Royal Ascot draws to a dramatic conclusion on Saturday afternoon, when the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes headlines the final day's card. Around the Group One feature, ITV Racing fans have got the Hardwicke and Jersey Stakes to enjoy, as well as a trio of competitive handicaps.

Royal Ascot 2024 Day 5 Tips


2:30pm Ascot - Chesham Stakes Tips


Despite a field of 17 being declared, this year's Chesham doesn't look overly deep. I really liked Pentle Bay's debut victory at Leicester and he should play a big part. Whether he'll be good enough to take down BEDTIME STORY (9/4), is another question.

Aidan O'Brien's charge took down an odds-on stablemate, Giselle to make a winning debut over seven-and-a-half furlongs at Leopardstown. By Kingman and a half-brother to Group Three-winning juvenile Content, Ryan Moore's mount is bred to be a smart two-year-old and both the jockey and trainer have an excellent record in this contest.

I'll be placing a reverse forecast with Bedtime Story and Pentle Bay, just to cover that base, but I'm confident that the favourite will feature in the finish.

3:05pm Ascot - Hardwicke Stakes Tips


Aidan O'Brien will use this Group Two as a target for the returning Continuous, who should be taken on, given how most of his stablemates have needed their first starts of the season. Middle Earth and Desert Hero boast valuable course form, and I think Elegant Man could be a little overlooked at 50/1.

In the same ante-post piece where I put up Auguste Rodin at 6/1, I tipped ISLE OF JURA (10/1) at 12/1 for this contest. George Scott's star won four of his five starts out in the Middle East, including an impressive triumph over the Hardwicke Stakes trip on his final Bahrain outing in March.

Isle Of Jura continued that winning run on his return to Britain, as Callum Shepherd's mount powered home from the rear to win the Festival Stakes at Goodwood. That win came at a time when Scott's turf runners were out of form and stepping back up in distance at Royal Ascot could see Isle Of Jura progress to a whole new level.

4:25pm Ascot - Jersey Stakes Tips


Given how much his stablemates have improved for their reappearance, River Tiber has to be considered a worthy favourite. Haatem's form cannot be questioned. I'm still convinced that my 2000 Guineas selection, Task Force will be top-notch, and Never So Brave boasts a progressive profile.

I'm going to have a gamble on INDIAN RUN (50/1) - a horse I've always been quite fond of. Eve Johnson Houghton's star won his maiden here at Ascot, before thrashing a decent field in the Acomb Stakes at York.

Indian Run has finished last on his two most recent starts in the Dewhurst and the Spring Trophy Stakes at Haydock. I'm confident that Charlie Bishop's mount is much better than what he showed in both of those races and a recent wind operation could help him bounce back on Saturday.

5:05pm Ascot - Wokingham Stakes Tips


I've found two each-way contenders to back in this huge sprint, starting with FERROUS (25/1). Jack Channon's sprinter showed ability at three, but seemed to improve massively for a winter gelding operation, recording two emphatic victories on the all-weather in the spring.

On his return to turf last month, Ferrous kept on well to finish third behind Lethal Levi and Rumstar at Newbury. Ferrous remains on the same mark of 98 for this assignment and David Probert's mount has been drawn nicely up in stall 18.

Over in stall four is GLENFINNAN (33/1), who'll be looking to record his third triumph at the track. Glenfinnan won a competitive conditions race over seven furlongs for Andrew Balding last year, before striking at Ascot on his second start for Michael Dods in May, beating Billyjoh and Russet Gold.

Like Ferrous, Glenfinnan finished third on his most recent start, picking up late on to follow Manila Scouse home at Hamilton with a top-weight of 10-2 on his back. Connor Beasley's mount could be well-treated off this mark of 95 and there are possible pacemakers drawn on his side of the track.

5:40pm Ascot - Golden Gates Stakes Tips


I'm keen to back APPROVAL (7/1) on his handicap debut. William Haggas ran this son of Le Harve just once as a juvenile, putting him away for the rest of the season after a ninth-place finish at Doncaster.

Following two solid runner-up finishes on the all-weather, Approval got off the mark on his return to turf at Windsor, making every yard of the running to beat some handy rivals over ten furlongs. I was really impressed with the way that Tom Marquand's mount finished off that race, having set fairly swift fractions throughout, and Approval could be well-treated off this opening mark of 90.

6:15pm Ascot - Queen Alexandra Stakes Tips


Dawn Rising was my selection when he won this 12 months ago and he could end a frustrating week for Joseph O'Brien on a high. RUN FOR OSCAR (11/2) finishing a luckless third that day, having found his path to the post along the inside rail blocked continuously down the home straight.

Charles Byrnes' former Cesarewitch winner went on to run well in a couple of Group races later in the season, and should be fit for his return to Ascot after a couple of low-key performances during the spring. Queenstown is an obvious player, given his form behind Gold Cup winner Kyprios, but at the prices, Run For Oscar represents better value.
