Royal Ascot 2026 - Jockeys To Follow
Ryan Moore
The stand-out jockey at Royal Ascot is undoubtedly Ryan Moore. Aidan O'Brien's number one rider has ridden 30 winners at this famous meeting since 2021, averaging six winners per Royal Ascot during that time.
The bulk of Moore's victories have come aboard Aidan O'Brien-trained horses. Moore has also ridden four winners for top National Hunt trainer Willie Mullins, along with handicap winners for the likes of Joseph O'Brien, Harry Charlton, David Evans and Sir Michael Stoute.
Oisin Murphy
Oisin Murphy has been prolific at Royal Ascot over the past five seasons. The Champion Jockey has racked up 15 winners during this period, despite missing the 2022 meeting completely.
Most of Murphy's winners have come for Andrew Balding. Oisin has also ridden Group One winners for Henry Dwyer, Julie Camacho and Charlie Hills, while also scoring aboard runners for the Gosdens, the Crisfords, Hughie Morrison and Saeed bin Suroor.
William Buick
Despite Charlie Appleby's struggles in recent seasons, William Buick has recorded 14 Royal Ascot victories across the past five seasons.
Only five of those 14 winners have been supplied by his main boss, Charlie Appleby. Buick has also won for trainers such as Nicky Henderson, Willie Mullins, Jane Chapple-Hyam, David Menuisier, John Gosden and Harry Charlton. Whether riding in a Group One or a handicap, William Buick is a man to follow at the Royal meeting.

James Doyle
Formerly William Buick's understudy at Godolphin, James Doyle has enjoyed plenty of success since taking the top jockey role for Wathnan Racing.
Doyle's crowning moment came aboard Lazzat in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at last year's meeting. Eight of Doyle's ten winners have come for Wathnan Racing in the last two seasons, scoring aboard Leovanni, French Master, Shareholder and twice aboard Richard Hannon's Haatem.
Tom Marquand
Despite a barren meeting in 2025, Tom Marquand makes it onto this list. Marquand has celebrated seven winners during the last five seasons, most notably aboard the Royal runner Desert Hero in the 2023 King George V Stakes Handicap.
"Aussie Tom" guided Porta Fortuna to Coronation Stakes glory for Donnacha O'Brien the following season. Five of Marquand's winners have come for his boss, William Haggas, with another aboard Waipiro for Ed Walker.
Honourable Mentions
Tom Marquand's wife, Hollie Doyle, has ridden five Royal Ascot winners since 2021 and is particularly potent when teaming up with Archie Watson.
Danny Tudhope hasn't had many opportunities for Royal Ascot winners over the past couple of seasons, but still managed five winners across the 2021, 2022 and 2023 meetings.
Australian rider James McDonald boasts an excellent strike rate at Royal Ascot, celebrating three winners in 2023 before guiding Crimson Advocate to victory in the 2025 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes.
