2024 St James's Palace Stakes Entries
Following three impressive wins on the all-weather at Kempton, Notable Speech romped to victory in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, scoring by a length-and-a-half under William Buick. Rosallion kept on to finish second that day and boosted the Newmarket form by beating stablemate Haatem in the Irish 2000 Guineas next time out.
Henry Longfellow was well-beaten on his return to action in the French version of the 2000 Guineas, but Aidan O'Brien's star still sits second in the market. O'Brien could also be represented by Unquestionable and Mountain Bear, who finished fourth and seventh behind Rosallion at the Curragh.
River Tiber and Haatem have been handed entries, but the Jersey Stakes has been mentioned as the target for both. City Of Troy and Ghostwriter also feature in the betting, despite both being aimed at the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown instead.
Jerome Reynier's Darlinghurst could make his British debut on day one of Royal Ascot, having already won four times so far this year. Surprise French 2000 Guineas winner, Metropolitan has been supplemented into the contest. Owen Burrows could be represented by Alyanaabi, following an encouraging reappearance in the 2000 Guineas.
Other possible runners include Ed Walker's runaway Listed winner Almaqam, recent maiden scorer Lead Artist, Ralph Beckett's King's Gamble, and 2000 Guineas runner Ten Bob Tony.
