2021 Preakness Stakes Odds - Medina Spirit cleared to run and tops Pimlico betting

The second leg of American racing's Triple Crown takes place at Pimlico on Saturday, as a top-quality field goes to post in the Preakness Stakes. Ten runners were confirmed in Saturday's main event, with Medina Spirit topping the betting.

Medina Spirit was stripped of his victory in the Kentucky Derby last month, following a positive drugs test. Bob Baffert has been forced to defend his reputation since then, and it seemed for a while like Medina Spirit would be denied the chance to land the second leg of the Triple Crown.

However, news broke today that Baffert and his lawyers has come to an agreement with officials, allowing Medina Lake to take up his spot in the Preakness field, and he tops the 48-hour betting.

Stablemate Concert Tour, who was last seen finishing a disappointing third in the Arkansas Derby sits just behind Medina Spirit in the betting. Chad Brown is also double-handed, with Crowded Trade and Risk Taking featuring in the final field.

Midnight Bourbon, sixth in the Kentucky Derby, has been drawn in stall five, with Rombauer one stall outside him in six. 

Keepmeinmind will clash with Medina Spirit again, after finishing seventh in the Derby. Unbridled Honor, Ram and Japanese raider, France Go De Ina complete the field.
