On Sunday, Longchamp racecourse hosts one of the most prestigious days of racing in all of flat racing. Six Group One races will be run in Paris, including Europe's most valuable flat race, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

I've taken a look through the card in full and picked out my best betting tips on Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe day at Longchamp.

Longchamp Tips - Sunday 5th October

12:40pm Longchamp - Prix Marcel Boussac Tips

Sunday's opening Group One looks to be a straight shootout between the top two in the market, and I'm leaning towards Aidan O'Brien's favourite, DIAMOND NECKLACE (6/4).

Despite her £1.7m price tag, Diamond Necklace was allowed to go off at 9/1 on debut at the Curragh in August, where Wayne Lordan's mount upset stablemate Minerva to claim an impressive win. With Venosa setting a hot pace out in front, Christophe Soumillon simply had to guide Diamond Necklace around Leopardstown to win the Ingabelle Stakes, which the 1/2 favourite did, despite showing signs of immaturity.

Venosa has been entered here too, and she'll be on pace-making duties once again. This daughter of St Mark's Basilica is bred to be a top middle-distance three-year-old, so I have no doubts as to whether she can see out the mile trip.

1:15pm Longchamp - Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere Tips

Plenty of front-running types feature in this field, which should ensure that RAYIF (11/4) gets his preffered set-up.

Francis-Henri Graffard's youngster kept on well to claim a narrow victory on debut over six furlongs. Mickael Barzalona held onto his mount for as long as he could in the Prix Francois Boutin, but once unleashed, Rayif saw out the seven furlong trip well, forging clear of two talented Irish rivals in Andab and Daytona.

That's the most solid piece of form on offer and Graffard's stable are flying. Rayif's half-sister, Rayevka is a high-quality sprinter in the Graffard stable, but there's more stamina in the sire's side of his pedigree.

1:50pm Longchamp - Prix de l'Abbaye Tips

With pace drawn low and high, I'm going to back two runners on either side of the track. SHE'S QUALITY (10/1) has been ultra-consistent this term, and I'm hoping to see Jack Davidson's filly finally get the rub of the green.

Barring a tame effort in the Nunthorpe - where the ground was probably a bit quick - She's Quality has enjoyed an excellent season. James Ryan's mount has suffered agonising defeats in four Group-race sprints, and was last seen rattling home to finish a close fourth in the Flying Five at the Curragh. She's Quality is drawn nicely in stall seven and softer ground will suit.

JM JUNGLE (14/1) edged out She's Quality to win the King George Qatar Stakes at Glorious Goodwood - where the future Nunthorpe and Sprint Cup winners were quite well beaten off.

John & Sean Quinn's sprinter had enjoyed a consistent summer running in high-profile handicaps, and I don't think he got the credit he deserved for that Group Two triumph. JM Jungle couldn't sustain his challenge in the Nunthorpe, but his form on softer ground is good and he's got Night Raider and Star Of Lady M to bring him into the race on his side.

3:50pm Longchamp - Prix de l'Opera Tips

I've long thought that JANUARY (13/2) would improve for a step up in trip and, having decided to bypass the Sun Chariot Stakes in-favour of the Opera, Aidan O'Brien has finally come around to that way of thinking.

After finishing a limp eighth on her reappearance in the Irish 1000 Guineas, January went close in the Coronation Stakes, the Falmouth Stakes and the Prix Rothschild. Christophe Soumillon's mount was a big drifter going into the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown, so it was no surprise to see her finish tamely back in seventh.

I'm slightly surprised that it's taken O'Brien so long to step this daughter of Kingman up beyond a mile, and I'm hoping she'll take the softer ground in her stride.

4:25pm Longchamp - Prix de la Foret Tips

More Thunder is a bit short in the betting for me, and Graffard wanted faster ground for Zarigana. Maranoa Charlie has gone close in two seven furlong Group Ones recently, and I'm slightly surprised to see the gap between himself and the market leaders in the betting.

I'm going to have a stab in the dark with KING'S GAMBLE (40/1), following an encouraging run at Doncaster. Ralph Beckett's lightly-raced four-year-old stuggled badly behind More Thunder at Newbury, but bounced back with a fine second in the Park Stakes, with the first-time blinkers helping him finish three lengths adrift of the super-impressive winner, Marvelman.

King's Gamble has shown flashed of ability throughout his career, having finished second to Lead Artist and Rage Of Bamby in pattern company. Beckett's horses are in much better form now, and soft ground should bring out the best in this Kingman colt.
