Newmarket Tips on September 24th - Best bests on day one of the Cambridgeshire meeting
Thursday marks the start of Newmarket's Cambridgeshire meeting, offering a strong race card featuring competitive handicaps and pattern races, though ITV Racing will not cover the event. Lady Roxby is tipped for a solid run in the 1:50pm Premier Fillies’ Handicap after a promising return to form. In the 2:25pm Federation Of Bloodstock Nursery Handicap, Harry Knows, partnered by Ryan Moore, is well-positioned in a fast-paced sprint. For the Rose Bowl Stakes at 3:35pm, outsider Magnetude, fresh from a gelding operation, is expected to challenge the favourite with stamina and a weight advantage.

Thursday's Tips
Newmarket's Cambridgeshire meeting begins on Thursday, and attendees have a strong card to look forward to.
The ITV Racing team won't be in attendance, but racing fans still have a couple of important pattern races and some competitive handicaps to delve into on day one. Here are my best betting tips for the feature races at Newmarket on Thursday.

Newmarket Tips - Thursday 24th September
1:50pm Newmarket - Premier Fillies' Handicap Tips
Fancied three-year-olds have a strong record in this fillies' handicap, so Irish raider Bear On The Run looks to have a terrific chance. LADY ROXBY (11/2) was only beaten a neck as a three-year-old in this race 12 months ago, and Michael Herrington's filly returns to Newmarket in good form.
Following an underwhelming first half of the season, Lady Roxby was freshened up ahead of a recent handicap outing at Kempton. Herrington's four-year-old ran well on her return to action, finishing second to in-form favourite Veil Of Clouds before bumping into another well-fancied three-year-old in Space Bear at Yarmouth nine days ago.
Despite running up to an RPR of 87 at Yarmouth, Lady Roxby remains on the same mark of 80 for this assignment. Rossa Ryan's mount is drawn nicely in stall five, and I'm expecting another strong showing from this hardy handicapper.
2:25pm Newmarket - Federation Of Bloodstock Nursery Handicap Tips
A fast pace is almost guaranteed for this five-furlong sprint handicap. HARRY KNOWS (7/2) should be well suited by that set-up, and he'll surely come in for support after Ryan Moore was confirmed in the saddle.
Richard Hughes' juvenile is one of the most experienced runners in this field, having won one of his seven starts so far this season. Harry Knows was gelded after his first couple of outings and hasn't finished outside the first three since, finishing a very close third in a handicap at Windsor before repeating that placing in the 2YO Trophy at Ripon last time out.
The winner of that Listed contest was Silent Beauty, who we saw bolt up in Group Three company at Ayr last weekend. Harry Knows could still be well treated off this mark of 90, and Ryan Moore's mount won't struggle for pace over the minimum distance.

3:35pm Newmarket - Rose Bowl Stakes Tips
Gregory won the Grand Cup on his sole start so far this season, and James Doyle's mount is odds-on to make it two from two in 2026. John and Thady Gosden's gelding has been pretty patchy throughout his career, so I'm going to take the market leader on with MAGNETUDE (12/1), who'll be having his first start after a gelding operation in early August.
James Owen's three-year-old ran a blinder from the front in the valuable Betway Handicap at the July Festival, keeping up a relentless gallop over that 14-furlong trip before being reeled in by Mythical Bay in the dying strides. Magnetude then took his chance in the Gordon Stakes, where Oisin Murphy's mount led early on. Murphy then slowed the pace right down through the middle section of the contest, after which Magnetude was outpaced by Enceladus and Geryon before tumbling back through the field.
I expect Cieren Fallon will ride Magnetude confidently on Thursday. Stablemate Burdett Road will want to lead too, but I'm not sure he wants two miles on the level. Magnetude, on the other hand, looked every inch a stayer during that huge run at Newmarket, and Owen's three-year-old will be getting a healthy chunk of weight from his older rivals.
