2026 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Runners
Daryz got the better of Minnie Hauk in a thrilling finish to last year's Arc. Francis Graffard's star was campaigned mainly over ten furlongs during the first half of the season, winning the Prix Ganay and the Prix Aga Khan in excellent style, and was cut into 9/4 favouritism after an easy victory over Bay City Roller in his prep run in the Prix Foy.
William Haggas will be represented by Maltese Cross, who won the Grand Prix de Paris over this course and distance earlier in the season. Thundering On bounced back to top form by winning the Blandford Stakes during Irish Champions Weekend, after which Joseph O'Brien stated that his Epsom Oaks winner would be aimed at the Arc.
Kalpana beat Calandagan in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot and could return for another shot at the Arc, having finished seventh at Longchamp 12 months ago. Francis Graffard's Varandir jumped to 16/1 in the betting after winning the Prix Niel. Bay City Roller also sits prominently in the market despite his defeat to Daryz on Arc Trials Day.
Despite an underwhelming campaign, Minnie Hauk looks likely to return to Longchamp for another showdown with Daryz. She could be Aidan O'Brien's sole representative after Diamond Necklace and Benvenuto Cellini were beaten in their trials. Graffard's filly Sunly was also beaten on Trials Day but could still head to the Arc, while Mikel Delzangles' Prix Niel runner-up Alam remains another possible contender.
2024 runner-up Aventure could make her third appearance in the Arc for Carlos Ferland. Cualificar could become the first Arc runner for the Andre and Lavinia Fabre partnership. Other potential runners include Meisho Tabaru for Japanese trainer Mamoru Ishibashi, Ed Walker's Almaqam, Sosie for the Fabres and German Group Two winner Santagada.
