4:15pm Thirsk - Support Young Lives Vs Cancer Handicap Tips

Noble Vow was hugely impressive when scoring at Haydock recently, but I'm going to take the market leader on with EXPLOSIVE FINNISH (6/1). Kevin and Lauren Frost's sprinter looked green and unfurnished at two, but has returned in 2026 with two excellent placed efforts.

Jack Mitchell was keen to switch Explosive Finnish off early from his wide draw at Southwell first time out, before swooping around the entire field to eventually lose out by half a length. Explosive Finnish travelled sweetly behind the rail-hugging front-runners at Beverley last time out, but was forced to angle out to make his challenge, which allowed the leaders to open up an unassailable lead.

Frost's three-year-old hit the line well that day, and remains on a winnable mark of 71. Joanna Mason comes in for the ride for the first time this afternoon, and she knows the sprint track at Thirsk like the back of her hand.

4:45pm Thirsk - Sky Bet Club Handicap Tips

Another wide-open handicap sprint, and I'm happy to chance my arm with MUKER (25/1). Nigel Tinkler's stalwart has won on his third start of the season in each of the past three years, and returns to Thirsk on the back of two pipe-openers this season.

Muker has won twice over this course and distance, with the second of those victories coming in May of last year. Tinkler's eight-year-old followed up at Doncaster in July off a mark of 83, before going close during a Racing League fixture at Southwell at the end of August.

A run of six straight defeats since that Doncaster victory has helped Muker drop down to a mark of just 79. I always prefer a high draw to a low one in sprint races at Thirsk, and Alex Jary's mount could be well placed to challenge in stall 12.

5:15pm Thirsk - Extra Places Handicap Tips

On the back of an excellent effort at York last time out, GREAT BEDWYN (5/1) has to have an excellent chance in this 12-furlong handicap.

Sean Levey's mount was tried over a variety of trips during a busy all-weather campaign, but returned to turf over his optimum distance of a mile and a half. The well-backed Master Builder stole a march on the field entering the final three furlongs, and Great Bedwyn was the one to give chase, but his powerful late surge came up just under a length short.

Richard Hannon - who boasts a near 25% strike rate at Thirsk - has his runners in good form at the moment. Despite a three-pound rise for that narrow defeat at York, Great Bedwyn is still rated below his last winning mark, and he's landed a kinder draw than market leader Letsbefrank.

5:45pm Thirsk - Price Boosts Handicap Tips

David O'Meara is excellent with his recruits, and he's managed to draw plenty of improvement out of YES I'M MALI (10/1) since his switch from the Faheys in the spring.

Following a pipe-opener at Doncaster, Yes I'm Mali struck on his second outing for O'Meara here at Thirsk, winning a Class 5 with plenty left in the tank. O'Meara's charge then struggled in a valuable handicap at Newbury, but caught the eye with how well he travelled at York last time out, where his late flourish was only good enough for second behind Lord Roxby.

Yes I'm Mali's fresh mark of 82 is still short of the peak rating he reached as a juvenile, and Mark Winn will be pleased with his draw in stall nine. With just 8-6 on his back, I'm expecting another competitive showing from this in-form four-year-old.
