Honeysuckle, Appreciate It and Epatante could all run

A week after the entries for the three big Grade Ones chases were announced, Cheltenham Festival organisers revealed the entries for the 2022 Champion Hurdle.

Topping the list of 23 runners was Honeysuckle, who stormed to an impressive victory in the feature Championship race on day one of the meeting last season. Henry De Bromhead has also handed entries to last year's Triumph Hurdle winner, Quilixios and Aspire Tower, who's yet to be seen this season.

Willie Mullins has four entered up, with two-time Champion Hurdle runner-up Sharjah likely to be joined by Saint Roi, Echoes In Rain and reigning Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner, Appreciate It. Gordon Elliott also accounts for four of the 23 entries, with Abacadabras, Teahupoo, Saint Felicien and Zanahiyr all possible runners.

Britain's charge is headed by Nicky Henderson, who's handed entries to former winners Epatante and Buveur D'Air. Paul Nicholls could still run Monmiral. Goshen, Song For Someone, Not So Sleepy and Adagio have also been entered up by British trainers.

Gavin Cromwell has given exciting novice, My Mate Mozzie the option of running in the main event on day one of the Cheltenham Festival. The other surprise entrants are Welsh Champion Hurdle winner, Glory and Fortune, and Ann Hamilton's improving hurdler, Tommy's Oscar.
