The 2026 Prix de Diane at Chantilly features Diamond Necklace as the firm favorite, following her unbeaten juvenile season and impressive French 1000 Guineas win. British contenders like Felicitas and long shot Green Spirit bolster the field, with Green Spirit regarded as standout each-way value at 16/1 due to her pedigree, strong juvenile form, and advantageous draw. While Diamond Necklace is tipped for victory, punters are encouraged to consider Green Spirit for value, particularly for each-way bets.

Before we get swept away with the action at Royal Ascot next week, flat racing fans will look to Chantilly for their fix of Group One action on Sunday. The main event on the card is the Prix de Diane, France's version of the Oaks, which was first staged at Chantilly in 1843.

We've taken a look through the betting for this year's Prix de Diane and picked out our best French racing betting tips.

Diamond Necklace enjoyed an unbeaten juvenile campaign, which culminated in a sparkling success in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day. Aidan O'Brien's filly returned to Longchamp for her reappearance in the French 1000 Guineas and romped to an easy three-length triumph under Ryan Moore.

British raiders occupy the next three spots in the betting. Karl Burke's Evolutionist won well at Longchamp on her reappearance before a runner-up finish to True Love in the 1000 Guineas. Lilt maintained her unbeaten record with an impressive return victory in the Michael Seely Memorial Stakes. Felicitas won nicely at Sandown on her return before a narrow defeat to Legacy Link in the Musidora Stakes at York.

Green Spirit won a Group Two as a juvenile and has placed twice behind Diamond Necklace since. Patrice Cottier will be represented by Listed winner Pink Panthera, while Group Two-placed Evita runs for Carlos and Yann Lerner.

Brian Meehan's Esna and David Menuisier's Inis Mor step up into Group One company after Listed victories on home soil. Christophe Soumillon rides Habibi for Jean-Claude Rouget. Aidan O'Brien's pacemaker, Moments Of Joy, completes this Classic field.

2026 Prix de Diane Tips

I was convinced at the end of last season that Diamond Necklace was Aidan O'Brien's best juvenile. Ryan Moore's mount was simply superb when cruising to victory in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, and she's bred to be even better over this sort of distance - an ominous sign for her opposition on Sunday.

The favourite has been drawn perfectly down in stall three. She handles any ground. Diamond Necklace is the best horse in the race and I think she'll win - but that doesn't mean we can't find some value against her in the market.

British and Irish raiders hold an extremely strong hand. Felicitas impressed in the Musidora and should cope with the softer ground, while Inis Mor appeals at a much longer price.

However, odds of 16/1 vastly underestimate the chances of GREEN SPIRIT (16/1). Christopher Head's filly was beaten quite comfortably behind Evolutionist on her return in the Prix de la Grotte and had to be held up from a dreadful wide draw in the Pouliches, before staying on into third late on.

Maxime Guyon's mount progressed nicely as a juvenile last season. Green Spirit won Group Three and Group Two races before tackling Diamond Necklace in the Prix Marcel Boussac, and Head's filly lost little in defeat at Longchamp, going down by just a length.

Like Diamond Necklace, Green Spirit is bred to be more effective over further than a mile. She's by Kingman and out of a Ballydoyle mare who has produced several useful middle-distance performers. Guyon has landed a lovely low draw in stall one and should be able to secure his preferred prominent position from the rail. She represents excellent each-way value at 16/1.
