2023 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Runners
Jean-Claude Rouget won his first Arc with Sottsass in 2020 and he'll be hoping to see Ace Impact follow in his former stablemate's footsteps. Ace Impact has enjoyed an unbeaten three-year-old campaign, including victories in the Prix du Jockey Club and the Prix Guillaume d'Ornano and most bookies list Rouget's runner as the firm favourite.
Hukum held off Westover to win a star-studded renewal of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes earlier in the season and both will fly the flag for Britain in the 2023 Arc. Aidan O'Brien has handed entries to two of his Classic winners, with Derby hero Auguste Rodin and Irish Oaks heroine Savethelastdance both sitting prominently in the market.
Ace Impact could be joined in the field by Pascal Barry's Feed The Flame, despite a shock defeat on his prep-run in the Prix Niel. Sebastian Wattel's Simca Mille claimed his first Group One win in the Preis Von Berlin earlier in the season. Zagrey, Jannah Rose, Place Du Carrousel could also represent home connections.
John and Thady Gosden could pin their hopes on Emily Upjohn, who hasn't been seen since a poor effort in the King George. Sir Michael Stoute's Bay Bridge proved his stamina with victory in the September Stakes at Kempton. Aidan O'Brien could step Luxembourg back up to a mile-and-a-half, following a runner-up finish to Auguste Rodin in the Irish Champion Stakes.
Tomohito Ozeki's Through Seven Seas could make the trip over from Japan for the 2023 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Other possible runners include Joseph O'Brien's Al Riffa, Andre Fabre's First Minister, Onesto for Fabrice Chappet and strong stayer Emily Dickinson.
