2025 Irish 1000 Guineas Tips - Weld's filly can remain unbeaten with Classic win
The 2025 Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh promises an exciting lineup, with Aidan O'Brien's Lake Victoria aiming for her fourth Group One win. Despite finishing sixth in her previous race, she leads the market. Dermot Weld's Swelter, fresh off a win at Leopardstown, appears as a strong contender with the potential to best the favorite, showcasing a remarkable turn-of-foot in prior races. An outside draw might give Swelter the advantage needed to challenge top ranks. Betting enthusiasts can follow live through dedicated streams.

2025 Irish 1000 Guineas Entries
Lake Victoria enjoyed an unbeaten juvenile campaign, winning Group One races over six, seven and eight furlongs. Aidan O'Brien's filly finished sixth on her reappearance in the British 1000 Guineas, but was expected to come on plenty for that return to action and Lake Victoria is the firm-favourite to win her fourth Group One on Sunday.
Sitting second in the market is Dermot Weld's Swelter, who made it two-from-two with an impressive victory in the Priory Belle Stakes at Leopardstown. Ollie Sangster's duo of Flight and Simmering finished second and third at Newmarket and both have been confirmed in the Irish equivalent on Sunday.
Paddy Twomey is represented by the once-raced City Of Memphis, who bolted up in a six-furlong maiden earlier this month. Donnacha O'Brien has supplemented the unbeaten Atsila into the mix. Joseph Murphy runs Cercene, who has already been placed behind Atsila and Swelter this season.

Archie Watson's Fred Darling winner, Duty First also makes the trip over to Ireland for Sunday's feature. Wayne Lordan rides the returning January for Aidan O'Brien. California Dreamer, Jaliyah and Tamam Desert complete the field.
2025 Irish 1000 Guineas Tips
Lake Victoria shaped like she'd improve plenty for that outing in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and, on juvenile form, she's the class act in this field. Stablemate January also boasts some excellent juvenile form, but could be a bit keen on her seasonal reappearance and will likely try and set the pace for the favourite from stall two.
Flight is also entitled to come on for her return to action at Newmarket and Oisin Murphy will want to be up with the early pace. Ollie Sangster's other runner, Simmering improved massively on her reappearance when third in the 1000 Guineas and she's got course form to her name too, having followed Lake Victoria home in the Moyglare last season.
The field usually converges towards the inside rail over a mile at the Curragh. If January, Flight and the only other potential front-runner, Duty First go forward, those drawn on the inner who don't get off to a fast start could find themselves stuck behind a wall of fillies.
An outside draw could turn out to be ideal for SWELTER (5/1), who showed plenty of gears when scoring in the Priory Belle. Dermot Weld's filly won her maiden over a mile last July, but proved she could hang with some speedy horses when powering to an excellent victory in that Leopardstown Trial.
Weld - who has saddled two of the last three winners of this Classic - said after that Group Three victory that he always saw Swelter as a ten-furlong filly. Yet, Swelter had no trouble travelling behind a fast pace in the Priory Belle and the turn-of-foot she displayed in the closing stages was mightly impressive.
Chris Hayes' mount is clearly a top-drawer filly, capable of challenging in major races throughout the rest of the season. If she gets a smooth passage through the contest from stall nine, I wouldn't be surprised at all if she took Lake Victoria's scalp.
