2026 Irish Oaks Odds - Thundering On joint-favourite to bounce back at Curragh
The 2026 Irish Oaks, set for this weekend at the Curragh, features a competitive lineup including Epsom Oaks winner Thundering On, who shares joint-favourite status with Royal Ascot's Ribblesdale Stakes victor Earth Shot. Other notable entries are Johanna Walsh, Amelia Earhart, and unbeaten filly Blanc De Blanc. With several horses looking to rebound from recent races, bettors and racing fans can expect an exciting contest. Market odds reflect a tightly contested field, with Thundering On and Earth Shot at 2/1, suggesting no clear standout. 2026 Irish Oaks Entries
Thundering On ran out a hugely impressive winner of the Oaks at Epsom, and carried a short price into the Pretty Polly Stakes last month. Joseph O'Brien's filly made her customary challenge from the rear, but could never quicken past Estrange, and crossed the line fourth behind three older horses.
That defeat has resulted in Thundering On only holding joint-favourite status for Ireland's equivalent of the Oaks. She's joined at the top of the market by William Haggas' Earth Shot, who swooped home late to land the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Thundering On's stablemate, Johanna Walsh ran a cracker to finish second at Royal Ascot, and could join Joseph's Classic winner in the field. Epsom runner-up, Legacy Link ran flat when only seventh in the Ribblesdale, but could bounce back on her first trip to Ireland.
Aidan O'Brien's leading chance is Amelia Earhart, despite just a sixth-place finish in the Epsom Oaks. Epsom third, Sugar Island could be on pacemaking duties again. Oaks fourth, A La Prochaine is a potential runner for Ralph Beckett and Wathnan Racing.
Robson De Aguiar's unbeaten filly Blanc De Blanc could make her turf debut in this Classic. Other potential runners into Eretria for Donnacha O'Brien, Eddie and Patrick Harty's filly Killashee Warrior, and Chasing Paradise for Johnny Murtagh.
