Fairview racecourse hosts its usual Friday card today, with the first race set to go off at 11:30am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing selections for today.

Fairview Tips - Friday 5th September

Race 3 - KEENIA’S PRINCESS (6)

KEENIA‘S PRINCESS showed improvement in her last start over 1400m on this course. The saddle was reported to have slipped and she was coughing. The daughter of Querari is having her peak run and should love the rise to 1600m. Wayne Agrella is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.

Race 4 - FLOWER FESTIVAL (6)

FLOWER FESTIVAL is one of the better bets on the programme. She has good recent form lines to her name. She found one too good in the form of Brenden James over this distance on the polytrack last time. The daughter of Flower Alley has won twice, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this distance. It is encouraging that Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and she should be competitive.

Race 6 - FAIRY KNIGHT (1)

FAIRY KNIGHT got going too late when second behind Mercantour in the first leg of the Non-Black Type Nelson Mandela Bay Racing East Cape Poly Challenge. Five of his ten career victories have come on this course. He will strip a much fitter horse and can return to winning ways with Richard Fourie back in the saddle.

Race 7 - SILENT TRIGGER (9)

SILENT TRIGGER returns from a 15-week break and is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish over 1600m on the Vaal Classic course was encouraging. He drops to 1400m and the blinkers should sharpen him up. If not in need of the outing, he can bring up his fourth-career victory.

Race 8 - HEART STEALER (3)

HEART STEALER is much better than his last start in the Non-Black Type Port Elizabeth Gold Cup. He finished 0.05 lengths behind PAINITE, three runs ago. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice and finished second three times from six starts on this course. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Verdict

Fairy Knight (Race 6) is Magic Tips' best bet of the day at Fairview on Friday.
