While National Hunt racing fans focus on the Grand National, one of the biggest flat racing cards in the world takes place on Saturday as Meydan hosts Dubai World Cup Night 2025.

Five Grade Ones and four Grade Twos feature on this stacked card, with over $30m in prize money on offer throughout the day. Here are our best bets through the card on Dubai World Cup Night 2025.

2025 Dubai World Cup Night Tips - Saturday 6th April

1:10pm Meydan - Dubai Gold Cup Tips

The Red Sea Turf Handicap is usually a good pointer towards the winner of the Dubai Gold Cup. Byzantine Dream won a steadily-run renewal of that valuable Grade Two in Saudi Arabia last month, with Epic Poet and Continuous staying on from off the pace to finish second and third respectively.

AL NAYYIR (11/2) was giving weight to the field that day and raced more handily than the two who leaders quickened around the final bend and couldn't find the extra gear required to get involved.

Tom Clover's seven-year-old is a proper two-mile stayer, something you couldn't say about either Continuous and Epic Poet. The presence of Trawlerman and Double Major should ensure that this contest is run at a decent clip, bringing stamina to the fore.

Al Nayyir finished a close second to Tower Of London in this race 12 months ago, before going on to make his mark in Britain. If he's come on for that outing in Riyadh, Tom Clover could be celebrating a huge victory in Saturday's opener.

1:45pm Meydan - Godolphin Mile Tips

I always look out for the Japanese runners in the dirt races at Meydan and I quite fancy an each-way punt on KAZU PETRIN (25/1) here. Manubu Ikezoe's five-year-old bolted up in a conditions race in August, before going close in a Grade Three at Tokyo in November, where he was narrowly held off by the odds-on favourite.

Kazu Petrin was the only horse to make significant ground from the rear when sixth in the Grade Two Procyon Stakes in January. Things didn't go to plan over ten furlongs last time out, but dropping back to a mile should suit the speedy Kazu Petrin and Cristian Demuro has been booked to ride.

2:20pm Meydan - Al Quoz Sprint Tips

REGIONAL (8/1) endured a curtailed campaign in 2024, but Ed Bethell's former Sprint Cup winner looked overpriced in the betting for Saturday's opening Grade One.

Callum Rodriguez's mount capped his break-out campaign in 2023 with a hard-fought victory in that Group One at Haydock. Regional was narrowly beaten on his reappearance in the Greenlands Stakes last May, before losing out by just a length to Asfoora in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Bethell uncovered an injury problem after a limp fourth in the Hackwood Stakes at Newbury in July and Regional has been off the track since. Rodriguez' mount has a good record when fresh and has travelled to the Middle East before, so I'm hoping he'll be able to put on a good show when he returns to the track this weekend.

3:00pm Meydan - UAE Derby Tips

Flood Zone should take plenty of beating here, and there's nothing that appeals to me as an each-way alternative. I'm happy to sit this one out.

3:40pm Meydan - Golden Shaheen Tips

Top American sprinter Straight No Chaser and defending champion Tuz look to have this between them, according to the betting. I'd prefer to take an each-way gamble on the three-year-old DARK SAFFRON (33/1), who has performed well on turf and dirt throughout this Dubai World Cup Carnival.

Connor Beasley's mount won on his dirt debut in November. Dark Saffron then switch to turf, placing twice behind Symbol Of Honour before a two-length defeat behind West Acre in the Nad Al Sheba Sprint over five furlongs.

Back over six furlongs and back on dirt, Dark Saffron thrashed a decent field by seven lengths to win a conditions race last time out. Ahmad Bin Harmash's youngster has held his own against his elders this season and I wouldn't be shocked to see Dark Saffron make his way into the places.

4:15pm Meydan - Dubai Turf Tips

Romantic Warrior almost boosted his legendary status with a stunning victory on dirt in the Saudi Cup last month. James McDonald's mount was narrowly beaten by Dubai World Cup favourite Saudi Warrior and Romantic Warrior is odds-on to bounce back to winning form now on his return to turf racing on Saturday.

Liberty Island sits second in the market. However, I like the look of the other Japanese mare, BREDE WEG (16/1), who was due to run in this race last season following her Grade One win at Kyoto, but was forced to miss the race due to a set-back.

Brede Weg returned to action in October with an excellent victory in the Ireland Trophy over this nine-furlong trip. Christophe-Patrice Lemaire's mount has looked a little outpaced on her two most recent starts over a mile, so stretching back out over nine furlongs should suit and her fast-finishing style should suit this track well. She's a strong contender for the places.

4:50pm Meydan - Sheema Classic Tips

I'm a huge fan of Calandagan and can see why the bookies have him as the favourite. Rebel's Romance is always a tough nut to crack, while Japan will be represented by four talented runners, including the classy Shin Emperor.

At 10/1, I think GIAVELLOTTO (10/1) is a fantastic bet. Marco Botti's six-year-old has been in the form of his life over the past 18 months, winning two Group Twos by impressive margins in Britain before a narrow defeat to Kyprios in the Irish St Leger back in September.

Oisin Murphy's mount travelled best throughout the Hong Kong Vase. Giavellotto hit a wall of horses turning into the straight, but Muprhy didn't panic. The Irishman spied a tiny gap on the inside and Giavellotto took off, powering into the lead in the blink of an eye before holding the field two lengths at bay in the final furlong.

Runner-up, Dubai Honour boosted that form with a Group One victory in Australia this week and beaten-favourite Stellenbosch has form with Cervinia, who represents Japan this weekend. Giavellotto stays really well and Botti has helped his stable star find a devastating turn of foot since dropping him back in trip. The Sheema Classic should set up perfectly for Giavellotto. I think 10/1 is an excellent price.

5:30pm Meydan - Dubai World Cup Tips

My least imaginative selection comes in the namesake race of the meeting, where I can't see beyond the odds-on favourite FOREVER YOUNG (8/13). Yoshito Yahagi's star came out on top of Romantic Warrior in a battle for the ages in the Saudi Cup, where the top two pulled miles clear of Ushba Tesoro and Wilson Tesoro back in third and fourth.

Forever Young has dominated his rivals in Japan and even has course form here at Meydan, having run away with the UAE Derby 12 months ago. Ryusei Sakai's mount has only tasted defeat in America, but Forever Young was incredibly unlucky not to win the Kentucky Derby last season and his third-place effort in the Breeders' Cup Classic was more than commendable.

There's a chance that Forever Young had a hard race at Riyadh, which would bring the likes of Imperial Emperor and Walk Of Stars into the contest. Yet, I fancy the favourite could beat both of them without being at his best. Forever Young, for me, is the best dirt race on the planet.
