The main event on the opening day of the Grand National meeting is the Aintree Bowl. Legends like Wayward Lad, Desert Orchid and See More Business won this Grade One during their illustrious careers and Clan Des Obeaux will attempt to become the fifth back-to-back winner at Aintree.

Clan Des Obeaux ran out an impressive winner of the Bowl 12 months ago, before following up at Aintree. Paul Nicholls' star sits second in the betting behind Dan Skelton's Protektorat, who ran a cracker when third in the Gold Cup last time out.

Irish Gold Cup winner, Conflated could step back up to three miles after a late fall in the Ryanair Chase. Fellow Irish raider, Fakir D'Oudairies features in the betting, but a return to the Melling Chase looks much more likely.

2019 winner, Kemboy has been entered up again by Willie Mullins. Gold Cup fifth, Royale Pagaille could run for Venetia Williams. Eldorado Allen could renew rivalries with Clan Des Obeaux at the Grand National Festival, having beaten that rival in the Denman Chase.
