2022 Aintree Bowl Entries
Clan Des Obeaux ran out an impressive winner of the Bowl 12 months ago, before following up at Aintree. Paul Nicholls' star sits second in the betting behind Dan Skelton's Protektorat, who ran a cracker when third in the Gold Cup last time out.
Irish Gold Cup winner, Conflated could step back up to three miles after a late fall in the Ryanair Chase. 2019 winner, Kemboy has been entered up again by Willie Mullins.
Gold Cup fifth, Royale Pagaille could run for Venetia Williams. Eldorado Allen could renew rivalries with Clan Des Obeaux at the Grand National Festival, having beaten that rival in the Denman Chase. Four-time Grade One winner Bristol De Mai and Ann Hamilton's former Old Roan Chase winner, Nuts Well also take their chance. Olly Murphy's Itchy Feet rounds off the field.

2022 Aintree Bowl Tips
Protektorat made a terrible error at the final flight in the Gold Cup and did brilliantly to hang on to third. Dan Skelton will have had his star primed for Cheltenham. The 20-day turnaround between Cheltenham and Aintree isn't ideal and I fear that that grueling run in the Gold Cup may have left its mark.
Conflated was staying on to finish second behind Allaho in the Ryanair, before falling at the second-last flight. Gordon Elliott's Irish Gold Cup winner will be much more comfortable over this trip. However, the form of Elliott's yard leading into Aintree is a worry and I'm not sure the rain that's forecast on Wednesday and Thursday will do Conflated any favours.
Rain-softened ground would certainly suit Royale Pagaille who, considering he made several notable errors, did well to finish half-a-length behind Protektorat in the Gold Cup. Venetia Williams' eight-year-old appeals at the prices but again, like with the market leader, the short turnaround between Cheltenham and Aintree is a big worry.
The safest option here is clearly CLAN DES OBEAUX, who has won on good, soft and heavy ground during his career. Paul Nicholls' charge was beaten in the Denman Chase 12 months ago, and went on to trounce his rivals in this race before taking down Al Boum Photo to win at Punchestown.
Paul Nicholls' star finished second in the King George - a decent result considering he was always travelling just behind an unsustainable pace. Clan Des Obeaux was, again, beaten in this year's renewal of the Denman Chase, where he never really looked comfortable as he finished a distant third behind Eldorado Allen.
After the King George, this will have been the big target for Clan Des Obeaux. Nicholls is a master at preparing his chasers for specific races and the Champion Trainer has replaced Clan Des Obeaux's usual cheek-pieces with first-time blinkers, to try and freshen things up a bit.
Verdict
Clan Des Obeaux was completely dominant in this race 12 months ago and a similar performance wouldn't be a surprise. He's the most solid option at 7/2.
