The last of four Grade Ones on the opening day of Aintree's Grand National meeting is the Aintree Hurdle. Many of the sport's best hurdlers have won this two-and-a-half-mile contest and this year's renewal is shaping up to be a cracker.

Gordon Elliott won his first Aintree Hurdle with Abacadabras 12 months ago. Zanahiyr will fly the flag for Elliott this year, having placed in three Grade Ones over two miles so far this season.
Epatante finished a place ahead of Zanahiyr when second to Honeysuckle in the Champion Hurdle and she'll step up in trip for the first time. Nicky Henderson will also throw former winner, Buveur D'Air into the mix.
Olly Murphy will be represented by Brewin'Upastorm, while Tom Lacey runs Betfair Hurdle winner and Champion Hurdle fifth, Glory And Fortune. Monmiral won the juvenile contest on this day 12 months ago, and Harry Cobden could partner Paul Nicholls' five-year-old.
Other notable Grand National Festival entrants include David Pipe's five-year-old Adagio, International Hurdle winner Guard Your Dreams, former Triumph Hurdle winner Quilixios and another Paul Nicholls' runner, McFabulous.
