Day two of the Grand National Festival is headlined by the Marsh Chase, registered as the Melling Chase. This two-and-a-half-mile Grade One was first staged at Aintree 1991 and Fakir D'Oudairies will bid to join the likes of Viking Flagship, Voy Por Ustedes and Moscow Flyer on the list of two-time winners when he returns to Merseyside this week.
We've taken a look through the latest Melling Chase odds and picked out our best betting tips.

2022 Marsh Chase Entries
Fakir D'Oudairies destroyed his rivals to win this race 12 months ago. After winning the Ascot Chase, Joseph O'Brien decided to skip a showdown with Allaho in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham, and the defending champion is best priced at 6/4 to win again on Friday.
Funambule Sivola will step back up in trip at Aintree, having followed Energumene home in the Champion Chase last time out. Captain Guinness and Sceau Royal will both be trying this trip for the first time, having shown some excellent form over two miles during their careers.
Allmankind won the Old Roan Chase on his last visit to Aintree back in October. Three-time winner, Nicky Henderson could throw Mister Fisher into the Mix, while Paul Nicholls - another three-time winning trainer - has both Hitman and Saint Calvados entered up.
Other notable Grand National Festival entrants include Willie Mullins' Royal Rendezvous, Fergal O'Brien's Paint The Dream and Jessica Harrington's raider, Sizing Pottsie.
2022 Marsh Chase Tips
After Allaho, Fakir D'Oudairies is clearly the second-best two-and-a-half-mile chaser in the business. However, I don't really fancy backing him at 13/8, especially when there are three paid places up for grabs.
Funambule Sivola is clearly better over two miles and Sceau Royal has never been tried over this trip. Neither has Captain Guinness, who never really strikes me as a real top-notcher.
Allmankind is never a horse I've warmed to. His jumping over fences can be sketchy, to say the least. Mister Fisher boasts an excellent record in lesser races, but is yet to really challenge in a Grade One and wants genuinely good ground to be at his best.
The best option at the odds has to be SAINT CALVADOS, who ran no sort of race at all when trying Ascot for the first time in the Ascot Chase. On his only other start this season, Paul Nicholls' star cantered to the front far too soon in the King George and faded back to third on the run to the line.
When the ground turned very soft at Cheltenham, Paul Nicholls removed most of his high-profile runners. I have no idea why he didn't let Saint Calvados run in the Ryanair, as his record around Cheltenham is very good and he boasts plenty of form on softer ground.
That defection means that Saint Calvados will enter this Grade One nice and fresh. Harry Cobden has chosen to ride him over stablemate Hitman, and Nicholls' nine-year-old goes on pretty much any ground.
Verdict
Saint Calvados is one of the few runners in this field with genuine Grade One form over this distance and he looks overpriced at 12/1.
