2023 Ascot Gold Cup Entries

An impressive winner of the Ascot Stakes at this meeting 12 months ago, victories in the Doncaster Cup and the Sagaro Stakes have helped Coltrane to the head of the betting for this year's Ascot Gold Cup. Sitting second in the market is last year's St Leger hero Eldar Eldarov, who stayed on to finish a close second on his reappearance in the Yorkshire Cup.

Two four-year-old fillies sit prominently in the market, with Ralph Beckett's Haskoy slightly adrift of Aidan O'Brien's Emily Dickinson. O'Brien could also run Dubai Gold Cup winner Broome, along with either Point Lonsdale, Changingoftheguard or Bolshoi Ballet.

John and Thady Gosden could be represented by unbeaten Courage Mon Ami. Willie Mullins has handed an entry to Echoes In Rain. Subjectivist has made a pleasing return from injury this year and could return to Ascot for the first time since his impressive triumph in this race back in 2021.

Charlie Appleby and William Buick could team up with the consistent Yibir. Other possible Royal Ascot runners include Alan King's Trueshan, El Habeeb for Kevin Philippart De Foy and Christophe Ferland's French raider, Big Call.
