The final field has been confirmed for the 2025 Kentucky Derby, with the draw taking place at Churchill Downs at the start of the week.

Mike McCarthy will have been very pleased with the draw for favourite Journalism, who'll spring from stall eight on Saturday. Market rival Sovereignty came out much worse in the draw, and drifted in the market having been placed wide in stall 18.

Bob Baffert will be having his first Kentucky Derby runners since 2021 after his doping ban was lifted. Baffert was in attendance to see Citizen Bull draw the rail in stall one. Mike Smith rides Baffert's leading contender Rodriguez, who'll jump from stall four.

The two Japanese raiders, Luxor Café and Admire Daytona were drawn next to each other in stalls seven and six. Ian Wilkes' contender, Burnham Square (9) was placed on the shoulder of Journalism, with Neoequos (2), Final Gambit (3) and American Promise (5) also landing favourable low draws.

Chunk Of Gold (19) and Owen Almighty (20) were placed in the outside stalls, with Mark Casse's Sandman (17) also landing a potentially tricky wide draw. Steve Asmussen's pair of Tiztastic (14) and Publisher (13) will stand alongside each other in the stalls.

John Velazquez's mount, Grande (10) will jump from a central stall, along with Flying Mohawk (11) and East Avenue (12). Render Judgement (15) and Coal Battle (16) were drawn in outside posts. John Shirreffs Baeza is the first and only reserve.
