Road To The Kentucky Derby 2025 - Final Points Standings

Leading the pack is Burnham Square, trained by Ian Wilkes, who secured his 130 points with victories in the Blue Grass Stakes and Holy Bull Stakes. Sitting second is Mark Casse's Sandman, who earned 129 points through a dominant Arkansas Derby victory and placed efforts in the Rebel Stakes and an allowance race. 

Current Kentucky Derby favourite Journalism has amassed 122.5 points with wins in the Santa Anita Derby, San Felipe Stakes and Los Alamitos Futurity. Rodriguez, trained by Bob Baffert, has accumulated 121.25 points through victories in the Wood Memorial Stakes (100 points) and a second-place finish in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes (20 points).

Another strong contender is Tiztastic, trained by Steve Asmussen, whose Louisiana Derby win, paired with second and third-place finishes in the Street Sense Stakes and Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes has brought his total to 119 points.

Further down the list, Tappan Street has earned 110 points through his Florida Derby win and a second-place finish in the Holy Bull Stakes. Sovereignty, trained by Bill Mott, shares the same total with a Fountain of Youth Stakes win and a second in the Florida Derby. 

Final Gambit, another Brad Cox entry, earned all of his points with a single but crucial win in the Jeff Ruby Steaks. Admire Daytona, a Japanese-bred colt trained by Yukihiro Kato, also sits at 100 points thanks to his UAE Derby victory. Completing the top ten is Coal Battle, trained by Lonnie Briley, whose Rebel Stakes win and a third-place finish in the Arkansas Derby bring his total to 95 points.
