ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 24th October
12:55pm Doncaster - Richard James Hone Memorial Handicap Tips
Saturday's action starts with a sprint handicap at Doncaster, where ETERNAL SUNSHINE (14/1) certainly seems to be overpriced. Jim Goldie's mare finished a close second before scoring nicely in back-to-back handicaps at Hamilton in August, and was caught on the line by Zooming in a six-furlong fillies handicap at Newmarket last month.
Lauren Young's mount struggled from a poor draw here at Doncaster in the Portland, and was slowly away on unsuitably fast ground at Ascot last time out. Conditions on Saturday should be ideal for last year's Portland winner, and Eternal Sunshine is weighted to run well with just 8-3 on her back.
1:10pm Cheltenham - Novices' Limited Handicap Chase Tips
Henry de Bromhead won this race with Zurich 12 months ago and sends the hat-trick-seeking Rockonliam over to Cheltenham for Saturday's opener. AS LEGENDS HAVE IT (8/1), however, remains eligible for novice contests, and Ben Pauling's seven-year-old looks to have a good chance.
Pauling sent As Legends Have It chasing after a fine third behind A Pai De Nom in a handicap hurdle during the November Meeting here at Cheltenham. Ben Jones' mount bumped into some decent rivals and suffered a late fall in his first three starts over fences before romping to victory in a handicap chase at Stratford in early March.
As Legends Have It followed up in good style at Uttoxeter at the end of the month, beating a nice horse of Tom Ellis' in Daytime Dreaming and Caughtinyourtrance, who won twice at Cartmel over the summer for James Moffatt. Pauling's chaser remains on a good mark for his seasonal reappearance on Saturday, and any further softening of the ground at Cheltenham would be to his advantage.

1:45pm Cheltenham - Extra Places Every Day Novices' Hurdle Tips
Road To Wembley and Newbrook Diamond met at Worcester earlier in the season, and it'll be interesting to see how they match up with one another again. KASHCHEI (11/4) could prove to be the fly in the ointment, and he can hand Irish trainer Cian Collins another Cheltenham winner.
Kashchei won an egg-and-spoon race at Kelso in May to open his account over hurdles. Collins' six-year-old then went close in a handicap back on home soil before carrying a penalty to victory in another novice hurdle at Downpatrick, the form of which has worked out pretty well since.
Carl Millar's mount was then run down late on his three-mile debut in a handicap at Clonmel, and the winner went on to finish fifth in the Persian War at Chepstow. Kashchei is a strong stayer with plenty of hurdling experience. He's the one for me.
2:05pm Doncaster - Doncaster Stakes Tips
No bet for me here. I don't want to back Bengal Tiger, but I'm not comfortable taking Aidan O'Brien's raider on either.
2:20pm Cheltenham - Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle Tips
The favourite has won this Pertemps Qualifier in three of the last four seasons, so those towards the head of the market must be respected. An interesting contender at a huge price is KITTY FOYLE (33/1), who finished 13th as a 200/1 outsider in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle in 2025.
Kitty Foyle has really upped her game since stepping up to three miles. Daisy Hitchin's tenacious mare went close at Kempton and Huntingdon, either side of an 18-length romp at Wincanton during the second half of last season, and wasn't beaten all that far behind American Sniper in a Class 2 handicap at Newton Abbot over the summer.
Hitchin's six-year-old enjoyed softer ground during her days on the Flat, and this is the first time she's encountered a genuinely soft surface over hurdles. She could go well under a featherweight of just 9-11.
2:55pm Cheltenham - Handicap Chase Tips
We then come to an old favourite of mine, KATATE DORI (4/1), who tops the betting for this 3m1f handicap chase.
Sam Thomas' eight-year-old was one of the headline names in my 20 To Follow series last season, after an excellent 2024/25 campaign. Katate Dori finished last on his return over hurdles at Aintree, but didn't run badly to finish sixth in the Coral Gold Cup, and was touched off by Herakles Westwood on the New Course here at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.
Dylan Johnston's mount struggled on good ground as he attempted to defend his Ladbrokes Trophy crown at Kempton, and stopped quickly in heavy conditions in the Scottish National at Ayr. Those defeats leave Thomas' star lurking on a dangerous handicap mark of 132, and soft ground will be ideal for Katate Dori as he looks to make a winning return to action.
3:30pm Cheltenham - Masterson Holdings Hurdle Tips
While his first two runs this season may not have gone to plan, returning to Cheltenham could spark a return to form for LORD BYRON (3/1).
Faye Bramley's four-year-old kept on strongly from out the back to finish a close fourth behind Maestro Conti in the Finesse Hurdle on Trials Day. Lord Byron then produced a near-identical performance in the Triumph Hurdle itself, pounding up the hill from off the pace to finish just three lengths adrift of Apolon De Charnie in fifth.
Bramley's stable star drifted markedly before he was beaten on the Flat at Carlisle in September and didn't seem to see out two and a half miles in the Persian War. Lord Byron is back over two miles and back within his own age group on Saturday. He seems the most likely winner.
