ITV Racing Tips on September 25th - Friday's fancies at Newmarket and Worcester

Friday marks the second day of Newmarket's Cambridgeshire Meeting with five Pattern races, supported by two Worcester handicaps, all broadcast live on ITV Racing. Key selections include Summerson (1:50pm Newmarket), Youdecide (2:05pm Worcester), Light Of Dawn (2:25pm Newmarket), and longshot Who's Glen (2:40pm Worcester, each-way). Newmarket's Cambridgeshire Meeting rolls into its second day on Friday, and attendees will be treated to five excellent Pattern races on day two. Along with a quintet of races from Newmarket, ITV Racing will also be showing a couple of handicaps over the jumps at Worcester Racecourse.

Here are my best betting tips for Friday's ITV Races at Newmarket and Worcester.

ITV Racing Tips - Friday 25th September


1:15pm Newmarket - Rosemary Stakes Tips


To be quite honest, I don't fancy anything in this low-quality Listed race. I could try to make cases for Estissa and Alobayyah, but I don't like their prices, and none of the outsiders hold any appeal. I'll leave this one alone.

1:50pm Newmarket - Princess Royal Stakes Tips


One of the least-exposed runners in this Group Three is SUMMERSON (8/1) for the in-form Roger Varian. Ray Dawson's mount finished second to odds-on favourites on her first couple of starts this year before opening her account with a 13-length romp on her first start over a mile and a half at Ffos Las in July.

Varian threw his filly into the Galtres Stakes on the back of that wide-margin maiden win. Summerson was the slowest out of the blocks, conceding an early lead to her rivals. She worked her way back into the contest steadily and looked to be travelling powerfully as she was angled out to challenge. Sadly, Prizeland was able to quicken clear at the two-furlong pole, and Varian's filly could only stay on into fourth.

I still thought that was an excellent run, considering her inexperience and how poorly she came out of the stalls at York. Dawson's mount will need a level break here, as there looks to be plenty of pace on. If Summerson can find a nice early position from stall four, then I'm sure she has the class to challenge at this sort of level.

2:05pm Worcester - Arc Summer Chase Series Final Handicap Chase Tips


Following an excellent effort over this course and distance on his most recent start, YOUDECIDE (11/2) looks a good bet in this series final.

Ben Pauling's six-year-old won twice in the space of three days when he returned from a break in August, scoring easily at Stratford before a simple success under 12-7 at Fontwell. Ben Jones' mount then travelled ominously well throughout the Bowlder Handicap Chase held here 15 days ago but was unlucky to bump into the incredibly well-handicapped Crebilly, who strode clear under Harry Cobden to claim a two-length success.

Despite that defeat, Youdecide took his form to a new level that day, and there should be more to come from this six-year-old while ground conditions remain in his favour.

2:25pm Newmarket - Rockfel Stakes Tips


Karl Burke's runners on the Rowley Mile always have to be respected, and I'm hoping to see LIGHT OF DAWN (4/1) build on that commanding victory in the Prestige Stakes.

Third behind Libertango and Sun Goddess in the Albany, Light Of Dawn was stepped up to seven furlongs after a flat performance on French soil at the start of August. James Doyle's mount travelled powerfully in the Prestige, hitting the front with two furlongs to travel before holding her rivals at arm's length under a hands-and-heels ride.

I thought Light Of Dawn was much the best in that Group Three and improved plenty for the step up in distance. Spirit Gesture and Miss Miniver should go well too, but I fancy Light Of Dawn is the best horse in this contest.

2:40pm Worcester - Fixed Brush Hurdle Series Final Novices' Handicap Hurdle Tips


Seven of the first ten in the betting here will be making their handicap debuts. However, experience can count for plenty in this sort of contest, so I'm going to take the fancied runners on with WHO'S GLEN (20/1).

Donald McCain's recruit was highly rated on the Flat for Andrew Balding but hadn't really put everything together over obstacles. That was until his most recent start at Bangor, where Theo Gillard's mount claimed a convincing victory despite a potentially telling mistake at the final flight.

First-time cheekpieces clearly did the trick that day, as Who's Glen recorded a career-best RPR of 114. McCain's five-year-old enters this handicap off an official mark of 110, and there's every chance he'll outrun his lengthy odds.

No bet for me in this one, as I don't fancy taking on Kokbastau with either of the Godolphin runners.
