Durbanville and Turffontein stage strong cards today, with the first race going off at Durbanville at 11:15am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing betting tips for today.

Durbanville Tips - Saturday 25th July

Race 1 - MERRIMENT (8)

MERRIMENT produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She took time to find her feet, but stayed on nicely to finish third. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1250m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.

Race 2 - LANDMAN (8)

LANDMAN is the top bet on the programme. He produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1000m on this course. The saddle was reported to have slipped that day which makes the run that much more encouraging. The son of The United States would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1250m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

Race 3 - ROYAL INFLUENCER (3)

ROYAL INFLUENCER set the pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time before getting caught late by Superhero. He has finished third on this course previously. He meets the right field and can go one better.

Race 4 - ECHO FOXTROT (7)

ECHO FOXTROT has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He stayed on when third over 1950m on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Winter course last time. It must be noted that Glenalmond and the second- place horse have come out and won since. The blinkers remain fitted and in this field, he can shed his maiden tag.

Race 7 - GIRL LIKE US (7)

GIRL LIKE US has good consistent form to her credit. She was slow into stride last time, but stayed on to finish third. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this C&D. Apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane takes the 2.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She may be rewarded for consistency.

Turffontein Tips - Saturday 25th July

Race 2 - LIGHTINTHEWOODS (2)

LIGHTINTHEWOODS has produced three good runs to date. She stayed on when second over 1160m on this course last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to 1400m. She meets the right field and should take a power of beating.

Race 4 - GEOSTORM (2)

GEOSTORM finished 1.3 lengths behind WINTER IN AUCKLAND last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody has plenty of scope and may be the one to side with.

Race 5 - PLUS FOUR (2)

PLUS FOUR was an easy winner over this C&D last time. Despite being slow into stride, he showed a good turn of foot and won going away. He received a seven-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and can follow up.

Race 7 - CAPE SAFFRON (3)

CAPE SAFFRON finished 1 length behind AMERICAN BEAUTY last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Flower Alley will be running on and she can notch up her fourth-career victory.

Race 8 - WINDS OF GRACE (1)

WINDS OF GRACE jumped inwards leaving the start last time, but stayed on to finish third. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. She is a consistent individual and if getting away on terms, she may be the one to beat.

Verdict

Landman (Race 2) is Magic Tips' best bet at Durbanville on Saturday. Over at Turffontein, Lightinthewoods (Race 2) is the NAP of the day.
