Durbanville racecourse hosts a decent card today, with the first race going off at 12:07pm (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing best bets for today.

Durbanville Tips - Wednesday 7th October

Race 2 - MISS ARIZONA (6)

As with the previous race, there are several unraced runners in this contest, so the same comment in respect of keeping an eye on the betting moves applies here as well. MISS ARIZONA has finished second in her last two starts, both over this C&D, the latest 1L behind the winner. She jumped awkwardly on that occasion, but finished off her race well. From gate six and with Richard Fourie up, she could go one better today.

Race 4 - DESERT ICE (7)

DESERT ICE showed solid improvement when finishing second in her latest over 1400m, just 0.5L back from the winner. She is drawn wideish in gate seven, but gets Keagan de Melo in the irons so she will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 5 - RICH MAN’S WORLD (6)

RICH MAN‘S WORLD returns from a 20-week rest, but he is a top-class sort and only tasted defeat once in the Grade 1 Golden Medallion at Scottsville when just failing by 0.3L over 1200m. He was bumped at the start that day, so he was a tad unlucky. He retains the services of Richard Fourie and whilst he no doubt has bigger races to contend, he should easily put this race to bed.

Race 7 - BETTER MAN (7)

BETTER MAN battled all the way down to the wire when finishing seventh last time out over 1600m, 1.45L behind the winner. He will have to deal with a wideish gate seven, but it is encouraging that Keagan De Melo retains the ride.

Race 8 - YOU MADE ME LOOK (4)

YOU MADE ME LOOK has finished third in his last two starts and stayed on well when ending up two lengths behind the winner last time out over this C&D, this despite suffering from breathing issues. The gelding has pulled a handy draw four and it is encouraging that Richard Fourie has stuck with the ride.

Verdict

Rich Mans World (Race 5) is Magic Tips' best bet at Durbanville on Wednesday.
