Flooring Porter became the first horse since the great Big Buck's to successfully defend his Stayers' Hurdle crown at the Cheltenham Festival last month. With Punchestown off the table, Gavin Cromwell's star will make his first appearance at Aintree on Saturday and Flooring Porter tops the betting with William Hill.

Last year's Liverpool Hurdle winner, Thyme Hill stayed on gamely to finish second behind Flooring Porter at Cheltenham and he'll have another crack at the winner this weekend. As will Champ, who could only fourth at Cheltenham last month.

Sire Du Berlais was hampered early as he attempted to win his third Pertemps Final at Cheltenham and could step back up into Grade One company at Aintree. As could Ashdale Bob, who placed third in the Coral Cup after trying to make all.

Thedevilscoachman could step up to three miles for the first time at the Grand National Festival. Thomas Darby placed third behind Thyme Hill here last year and skipped Cheltenham in favour of a return to Aintree.

Other possible runners include David Christie's ten-year-old Koshari, Dan Skelton's mare Molly Ollys Wishes and Patrick Griffin's outsider, Roi Mage.
