The showpiece event at Kempton's Christmas Festival is the King George VI Chase. This historic Grade One, which was first run at Kempton Park back in 1937, has been won by many of the sport's most legendary three-mile chasers, including Arkle, Wayward Lad, Desert Orchid and Kauto Star.

Here's a look through the current King George VI Chase betting and a rundown of the most likely runners.

2022 King George VI Chase Entries

Paul Nicholls' will be looking for his 13th victory in the King George VI Chase in 2022. His leading hope this year is undoubtedly Bravemansgame - winner of the Kauto Star Novices' Chase at this meeting 12 months ago and an imperious winner of the Charlie Hall Chase on his reappearance.

Bravemansgame will be joined in the field by stablemate by Hitman, who has placed in four Grade Ones, and Frodon, who claimed a shock victory in this race at Kempton two years ago.

Sitting closest to the favourite in the betting is Venetia Williams' L'Homme Presse, who won two Grade Ones as a novice last season. A wave of support has arrived for Williams' chaser in recent days, which has resulted in L'Homme Presse being cut into 2/1, as Bravemansgame drifted out to 7/4.

Henry De Bromhead could send over the rejuvenated Envoi Allen, following his victory in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal last month. Charlie Hall and Betfair Chase runner-up, Eldorado Allen could represent Joe Tizzard. Venetia Williams has handed a Kempton Christmas Festival entry to Royale Pagaille. Alex Hales' Millers Bank and David Pipe's Red Happy complete the King George betting.
